Q: I'm looking for something that will kill rats but not harm our visiting hedgehog or birds. is this any good?

Unfortunately this can harm any animal that can fit inside and in my opinion the opening to the trap is large enough to allow any small animal in,so I don't think this trap is ideal for you.

Q: My last Zapper had an extension lead which indicated when the trap had functioned. This is on the Amazon, America, site but not on the UK site, why?

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. There is no need to look inside this trap to check for a kill, the indicator light flashes when the trap has killed a Rat or Mouse. Personally I found that the trap has to be in an area they frequent and feel safe in, also the bait must be something that they are used to finding in the area. Rats are very intelligent and incredibly suspicious of new items and strange foods. I have assumed you have a rat problem as I did.

that is ok it means it is working, the green light and sound will stop shortly after that and the trap is ready, if it catch anything it buzz and have flushing green light i think 2or 3 times after that you will get constant green light indicating sucess. remember to switch the power off before emptying the trap. the red light indicate the battery need replacing. hope this help.
