The developed world's demographic challenge and perspectives on potential remedies
I much enjoyed reading this book by Paul Morland. He elegantly and concisely sets out the facts about the decline of fertility in almost all of the developed world and presents the economic and societal challenges that this is causing. As well as discussing objections to the suggestion of a crisis, he has interesting insights on how technology, government and, above all, we ourselves can provide potential solutions. The book does not claim to provide all the answers, but is a significant contribution to the discussion of a very important issue. It is also appealing that there are multiple references to the author's own family, including his wish that his first two grandchildren are the first of many.
