A Well-Made, Right-Sized, Comfortable, Functional Sling Pack
The Osprey sling pack is a well made, right-sized Sling Pack that is comfortable to wear (rear padding durable yet adequate, and strap wide and thick enough to be strong yet comfortable) and that looks good. Adequate volume for most typical travel items in main pocket, and an adequately sized front pocket for quick access to documents (like passport, tickets, and so on) and wallet. There's even a pocket on the strap useful for a snack bar or electrolyte tablets. Zippers work smoothly, although they aren't waterproof, but likely neither is the pack. Don't overlook the loops around the periphery. One can attach shock-cord loops with cord locks to tether items like rain gear, or use the plastic fastener clips on water bottle pockets to attach the pocket and carry a suitable water bottle on the outside of the sling pack. All-in-all, the Osprey sling pack is attractive and functional.

Don't leave the hotel without it!
Just completed a 2-week whirlwind tour of Thailand. This little bag is the perfect size for my 220lb, 6ft frame. Could easily and securely carry the necessary credentials anywhere I went, along with a bottle or two of water.Access to and functionality of the pockets is intuitive, especially important when I was navigating the bustling roads on my rental scooter. Quality, fit and finish were excellent, and kept my important documents dry through a few brief rain showers.Maybe a bit less important, but it matched my 35L Osprey carry-on backpack and complimented it well while on the multiple legs of the international flights. Small bags like this are very popular in Thailand for tourists and locals alike, but it was nice having something a bit unique.

Minimal design yet perfect for a day outing. Very comfortable.
Awesome sling. Minimal design with only two pockets, very well made and extremely comfortable. Perfect for a hike lasting few hrs to jaunts in the city while touring. Used it every day during our two week vacation in Korea and Japan.

Good But Not Perfect-Water Bottle Pocket!!!
I bought this bag to use after I injured my shoulder and couldn't use my backpack. The bag is nicely made as are all Osprey bags. Here is what I can get in it comfortably:cell phone IPhone 5sunglasseswallet 4" x 5"bandanamedical kit 5" x 5"woman's kit 4" x 6"keyslib balm tingranola bar and bag of peanutsI realized that the best way to use this bag is to use the two pockets internally to secure my stuff. Otherwise, it's just a jumble of nonsense that isn't organized. My glasses case is the only thing that is loose. My wallet and cell phone are in the exterior pocket.I gave the bag 4 stars because honestly, who doesn't carry their water and need to put it somewhere? There is no water bottle pocket. You could maybe rig up some straps to the outside with the little loops provided but then getting in that exterior pocket would be tough. It's just likely a design flaw of these sling bags. Once it is on your back the bottle may fall out of the pocket anyway. I can't see taking this on a day hike either as some reviewers noted. You would starve and die of thirst! It's fine for going to the store, running errands etc. and I am not sorry that I bought it but still. The water bottle pocket!

The right size for all day.
5 liters. That's not a lot. But a small sling is better than larger for a couple of reasons.Ambidextrous for right or left shoulder. Left shoulder may not be the obvious choice for right handers but it is my preferred carry side. I find it much more versatile and freeing up my dominant sideLow bulk. Let's likely to bump other people and things more likely to be kept with you than forced into a locker at the museum. Especially if you have it slung in front when you enter. Yes you have to keep most things inside rather than exterior water bottles. But again visible water bottles increase the bulk and keep you from entering places.Low weight. The small size weighs less and forces you to keep your load light. Slings become uncomfortable at 8-10 pounds.Editing what you carry keeps you comfortable and prevents over loading. Carefully consider your load. You'll travel better and enjoy it more.Tough. Far better stitching, padding and fabric than the cheap imports. The smooth design keeps you from getting hung up on branches, knobs, arm rests and such so it is less likely to catch and tear.Daisy chain loops for your jacket when wet. Or just expanded capacity.I've only felt it was small when I had to carry my family's gear because they had a problem overloading their own bags. But it still carried it all.The strap pocket. I'd rather they didn't have this. When you carry in front for security, this pocket is at risk in back It tends to ride up near my shoulder. So rigid things tend to be uncomfortable in the pocket. It needs to be designed even lower on the strap to be useful. Tricky to balance the position for all body types and loads. Better to eliminate it.And the strap seems to twist in the lower mount for reasons I can't explain.

Well built
This is an awesome bag. I use it everyday day, opening and closing the zippers constantly without issue. I love how compact it is even though it holds a good bit of stuff.. It has a type of clam shell design so it lays flat. The materials and stitching are top notch and appears to be very well built. I feel like I will use this bag for a very long time. So far no regrets.
