The bristles are a silicone style that are plenty long for the deepest of furs.While it can be used for de-shedding, id say its more for massage and petting your pet as the nebuliser just makes the cat roll and fall inlove with the feeling, my doggo on the otherhand just got overly excited with the smell of the silicone thinking it was a toy.
