Pretty good
This is a decent little hamster house. Easy to put together, looks good, and feels fairly durable. The hamster seems to enjoy. Pretty good for the price.

Thrilled it's made from gerbil-safe wood (Birch)!
This is a nice little hidey-house that, size-wise, is ideal for gerbils, hamsters and mice. (Any animal larger would not fit.) First off, a huge THANK YOU to the company for actually including the type of wood it's made from [Birch]. 99% of brands don't share this crucial information, despite the fact certain types of wood can be toxic to small animals, as can glues used in particle boards & other mixed woods. Birch is one of the best + safest woods for gerbils & most other small breeds (but definitely double check for your type of pet). It's important to note this house does not come pre-assembled. You receive multiple pieces, and place them together in a puzzle-like fashion using slots in the wood. My one bit of criticism is that no instructions were included, so I needed to refer back to the product photos here to try to figure out what piece should go where. I hope the company will consider adding a simple direction sheet demonstrating assembly, as what should have taken 30 seconds turned into almost 10 minutes since I had to get my computer & cross check photos. The house isn't really a 'permanent' structure since there aren't any nails or ties -- it is solely held together via the slots in the wood mentioned above. Considering my gerbils are chewers and nails/glue can cause issues I don't mind this, but if you're after something more structurally sound this may not be the right house for you. Overall, I'm super happy with it and my gerbs are even happier!

no instructions. We modified it and he loves it now!
Putting this together was tough. It did not come with instructions, so I was referring to the product page to assemble it. I will admit, it took me longer than I wanted but finally figured the pieces out. Instructions would be handy. The wood is nice and smooth. I have a Russian Dwarf hamster that loves to burrow. I figured this would be perfect for him. He has a 2-part cage and even though I measured it, I had to make modifications to it. The lid or top just sits on between wood pieces that rest together. The ladder part is way too spaced out for a Russian Dwarf, he could easily hurt his hands, so we did not use that. We wanted to use the lid, but it kept shifting. I finally pulled the sides of the lid off with pliers, please be careful if you do, the metal that holds it together is very sharp. We were able to nest the top on better, but he wanted nothing to do with it. So, we just put his bedding in it, and he was so happy it did not have a roof on it so he can burrow and made the area how he wants it. It is basically 3 sections for him to sleep in, and he moves the bedding to the area he wants to burrow. It sits in the first level, so the second level is above him which is clear. He seems very happy with the modifications we made for him.

very well made
I got this little house for my gerbil. I wish it came with instructions, but I figured it out eventually. It is very well made. It all locks together snuggly so it doesn't need glue or nails that might hurt my gerbil. The edges are nice and smooth. It is made of unfinished wood so it will be fine when my gerbil inevitably starts to chew on it. The pieces are nice and thick and it makes a sturdy little hideaway.

Suitable for aggressive chewers
This hideout is better suited for a dwarf variety. We first set it up in our youngest Syrian hamster's habitat, and quickly found that she couldn't comfortably squeeze into the smallest chamber. Also, she is has the strength to rattle the top out of place. Our smaller hamsters already have plenty of places to hide in their homes. So, it'll go in the general play area for our hamsters to explore while their habitats are being cleaned. The structure is simple to assemble/tear down for cleaning, no tools needed. The wood is thicker than the other hamster hideouts we own, so we're confident that it is more than capable of sheltering our most aggressive chewer. The price tag is fair considering the quality of materials. I wish they offered a larger size to accommodate Syrian hamsters.

Perfect for gerbils
Our gerbils love things that they can hide out in and crawl on. This house is perfect for their size and lifestyle. Upon putting it in their cage, they both immediately ran into. It is their new favorite hideout. Unlike other gerbil hideout, this one has enough room for them both to fit comfortably and move around in.

For small pets
The wood is solid, joined unfinished wood (as opposed to plywood or composite). I struggled a little figuring out how to put it together, but fits together only one way. The top does not stay on well. If your pet likes to push up they may push it off. The two entrance holes are smaller than the inner holes - see the picture. The wood is unfinished, which is probably safer for the animal, but it cannot be effectively cleaned. Mine immediately got stained with berry juice. It is a natural piece of furniture to add a hide and some vertical space to your small mammal’s home. It is too small for a pigmy hedgehog, but would be fine for mice and gerbils and dwarf hamsters.

Very nice hideout
The assembly takes no time at all for this hideout. It is more sturdy than some of the others I have gotten. This is perfect for hamsters and dormice, or anything that size really. It gives them something to play, hide in or chew on, great enrichment.
