I was delighted that I lost none of the attack and decay on the cymbals, especially the ride, or the guitarist's solos, and the singer's vocals were clear and sharp. No distortion at all, and - despite sitting only about 8 feet from the speakers - absolutely no buzzing in my ears afterwards. I also bought a pack of the silicone mute inserts, but didn't need them. I bought them for a concert for my daughter who has autism and struggles with loud people. They cut out the huge crowd noise and improved quality of the music.
