This allows collectors to not have to invest in models they already have and just get the components needed for the game. It also allows gamers to splurge on extra ship models for parts without having to pay for uneeded stands and cubes. You need the Starter Set to upgrade your toy fleet into a game. This just allows additional ships on the map instead of the standard 1v1 set-up the Starter allows for. I suggest getting that and only buying these stands if you love the game and want to fly more ships at a time.
