Does not quite hit the spot
Not the best available book that covers the fascinating use of collective nouns . It never quite manages to lift itself above being an average sort of informative book and the illustrations are designed to appeal more to children than serious minded adults .

A disappointing book
Thought it would contain much more information than it does.

Pretty but how factually correct?
Bought this for my wife's Xmas present, well one of her many presents not daring to buy her but a single present. It's a beautifully illustrated book but I have no confidence at all on how factually accurate it is having read the rather stunning statement on page 5 that snakes are warm-blooded animals. Duh?

beautifully illustrated in a children's fairy tale style
As others have said , beautifully illustrated in a children's fairy tale style . The text however is fascinating and well researched on an adult level.
