Very illuminating
This book is such an exciting read from a CFP who utilizes his expertise and lived experience to offer his clients different investment options. Mark simplifies the concept of the using annuities as a volatility protection from market loss, as a bond alternative and where it comes in as a very helpful tool in a retirement tool box. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn about annuities and how they can be useful in their financial planning.

A useful and simple guide
It’s never too early to plan for retirement. It will come sooner or later, so it’s best to have everything in its place by then – including the money you can count on.Frankly, I didn’t know much about this topic before reading this book, but to my pleasant surprise, I was able to learn something. That’s largely thanks to the author and the way he writes; everything is perfectly understandable, and you don’t have to have a background in finance to comprehend what it’s all about. This is a useful and simple guide to annuities that will surely be helpful if you’re looking to find out more about that subject.

Changed my mind on annuities
I really enjoyed this.book. it is definitely an eye opener and previously not knowing about FIAs had me locked into believing only the insurance companies win. I now know better and the author presents a solid argument to consider these instruments as part.of my retirement income. If you think this is on my for younger people you'd be wrong. I'm 78 years old and can see potential benefits for me and my wife. Especially my wife. Women folk in her family live unusually long lives. Her mother was 99 when she passed and her aunt, who just recently passed away was 108.

Complex information
I Didn’t Know Annuities Could Do That!: Worry-Free Strategies to Thrive in Retirement by Mark J. Orr is classified as a life insurance type of book. It primarily focuses on retirement but touches on taxes, social security, bonds, etc. Prior to reading this book, I was not aware of annuities or what they meant, especially in terms of retirement. I had a difficult time getting on board with this term and everything else in this book that often seemed complex and under-simplified. I do wish that some of this would have been more simplified so I could have understood a little more easy because I spent so much time reading and re-reading certain parts making sure I was getting what the author was writing before I moved onto the next part. Overall, I did take away so important parts but I do wish it was less complex, so I could have taken a little more from it.

Great for anyone looking to improve their financial growth
I Didn’t Know Annuities Could Do That!: Worry-Free Strategies to Thrive in Retirement by Mark J. Orr CFP is a great book anyone who is looking to learn how to grow their wealth or for anyone who has questions about what annuities are. Being honest, I had no idea what these things were. But, after reading this I have a much better understanding of what they are, how they work, and whether or not they are a resource that I should be using for my future. The author does a good job of explaining these without getting the reader lost in technical jargon. I highly recommend this is you are also trying to find out more about what annuities are and how they could benefit you.

A long-winded sales pitch
This book, while it does offer a bit of good information, is basically a very long-winded sales pitch. Large sections are repeated over and over again to lengthen the book. The author repeatedly refers to "what I call" (add trademarked name for annuity product author is trying to sell). It also assumes you have knowledge of what annuities are and how they work, in general. This is not the book for you if you want a basic introduction to annuities.
