Lumiquest pocket bouncer
I took pictures at my son's wedding and tried using the catch-light card on my Canon 580EX II like the paid photographers were doing. I missed several shots because my flash was basically firing at full power every shot slowing re-cycle time way down. With the Pocket Bouncer, I am used to taking a couple of 3-shot bracketed flash exposures at a time shooting at near the full burst capacity of my Canon T1i. The light is softened and recycle time is very fast because there isn't wasted light. Better than a soft-box in my opinion.Bill S.

A Little Bounce Goes A Long Way
I have a Canon 430EX flash unit and I wanted to be able to add some bounce ability and control, with or without a ceiling present. Then it also depends on the height of the ceiling that is present. This intelligent little unit unfolds and attachs to Velcro(tm), hook-n-loop fastened around the flash head. I purchased the LUMIQUEST Cinch Strap - Easily attach and remove flash bounce as I did not want to attach the double sticky-back Velcro(tm) directly to my flash unit. The Cinch Strap takes care of that and works like a champ. This unit folds nicely for inserting a space the size of a small camera (read Canon S5 IS) and installs in seconds and allows one to go from shooting with the flash unit head in a direct vertical position down to a few angles below directly vertical. It bounces light well and works great with the TTL features of the Canon 430EX and Canon camera. It works to soften light and to soften shadows. It gets a great THUMBS UP!! from me.

Useful outdoors but not indoors with good ceilings
If you are indoors and have adequate walls/ceilings with which to bounce your light against, then this pocket bouncer is a total waste. It directs too much of the light forward and is almost as bad as direct flash!! You might as well not use it.But if you're outdoors, then I can see it being somewhat useful as it will give a larger apparent area of light and so cause softer shadows. Its just not anywhere as nice as the light you get from bouncing off the ceiling or walls.I think there's an alternative one meant for indoors that lets you open the top up so that light can bounce up against the ceiling. That would actually be a much better bouncer for indoor use.

Love these ! Have used them for years
Have used these for 15 years and they are great! No shadows, no over flash just perfect light for all portraits and many other applications. I recommend anyone using a hot shoe flash of any brand have at least one of these. You will love the results!

Not worth the money.
You can get better results with a cardboard reflector. It is flimsy in construction, not easy to adjust except to its awkward (less than 45 degree) angle. Its velcro attachment is annoying, and the light it casts if almost as harsh as straight flash with a diffuser. I presume this is because it is relatively small so makes the light source not much bigger than the flash head itself. Save your money and use cardboard.

Not as helpful as hoped
I was hoping this would help to really soften my flash/speedlight, but I found my images still look like a used a bad flash. It is just a dimmer light versus a softer light. The customer service and the product itself were good quality, but I do not think I would recommend this product for someone looking to soften their light.

Great tool for outdoors and macro
I got mine back in may 2008 and so far never been more happy with the results i am getting from this bouncer. The design can't be better, it folds flat so it fits a back pockets of a regular jeans with no problem and makes it easier to store it in a camera bag full of lenses, filters and cameras (my case). If you shoot a lot outdoors or with very high ceilings then this is the tool you should get to have the proper lighting under almost any situation. And if you have more than one flash or just want to add some flexibility i suggest you to also buy the LumiQuest Cinch Strap to complete the kit.Isaac

Does the Job Well
Not much to say about this item other than it serves well its intended purpose. I frequently shoot in crowded places where there is a very high ceiling, making it impossible for the light from my flash to bounce from it. Enter the LumiQuest Pocket Bouncer, a very economical item that directs the light from your flash to your subject. Voila! Problem solved. So why only four stars? Because it looks so cheap. It appears to be plastic-covered cardboard, a comical situation when attached to my Nikon D7000 (not a high-end camera, but a good one); it's sort of like putting a paper crown on a princess. For that reason, I myself would not recommend this item for professional photographers or semi-pros; in business, appearance means a lot. If you're a photo enthusiast, hobbyist, etc. and your appearance as a photographer is not that important, go for it.If you purchase this bouncer, I do recommend that you also buy a LumiQuest UltraStrap LQ-126 to hold your bouncer in place.BOTTOM LINE: If your appearance as a photographer is a factor, I don't believe this product is suitable for you. If you just want to get the job done, this is a very good, economical way to do it. Happy photographing!

Hay bouncer más baratos pero la verdad es que este es el que mejor me ha funcionado hasta ahora y sigue teniendo un precio contenido. Muy contento con la compra.

Mini Studio in your bag.
I have had one of these for years so when a photographer friend of mine had a special birthday I bought him one. He has found as I have that it offers the same as bounced light from a ceiling but when one is not available or it's painted in any other colour from white. Very light and easy to fold and store. I have even used it outside in very bright conditions for fill-in-light.

A recommander +++++
