This charger is much lighter and has a plethora of features compared my old one (which is metal and gets very hot). This one is essentially plug it in, hook it up and forget it until tomorrow. One can read about the many features on this Amazon listing. I keep an outside the vehicle battery (that I purchased for my old truck but did not install before I sold it) and take it with me when I need to jump someone’s car, so basically I use it to power auto starters (and sometimes for other 12 DC needs). Right now I don’t have a battery maintainer on it. It tested out at 80 % charge in my tester. Connected the charger, which also read 80%. Set it to auto and checked on it a few times the rest of the day. It actually discharged it some more before charging began (see images). The seven stage charging process on Auto takes some time. I connected it around mid-morning and it was not charged by late evening when I last checked it. The charging unit, never got hot. The next morning the battery was fully charged.I like the 7 stage charging - hopefully that will equate with increase battery longevity. I also really like that it seamlessly operates then shuts down 24 hours after the battery has been charged (goes to pulse maintenance mode once battery is charged for those 24 hours). The auto mode varies the charging rate based on its diagnostics, but you can force it to trickle, quick or rapid charging if you desire. This is a nice, small car battery charger with trickle charger. I ordered this for my husband and son, who work on our cars. We've recently had some issues with our car batteries discharging, and we needed a battery charger with trickle charge. This battery charger has lived up to his name. We've already had to use it on 2 cars, and this charged them right up. My son really likes the trickle charge feature and says that this works very well. We like how small and lightweight it is, unlike other chargers that we've owned. Overall, this is a good battery charger. I recommend it.

I charged a 12v battery with it on ten amps and it did just fine. I like the handle on top for ease of moving around.

This review is for LVYUAN 12V/24V Car Battery Charger with Trickle Charger, $40 on amazon.Connected the two alligator clips to my 12 volt, 7.2 amp-hour, Lead-Acid battery. I powered on the unit (rocker switch on rear right). Display immediately began to blink (which I figured meant it was in read mode and not charger mode) and it displayed 12.7 volts, 0.0 amps, and the VOL (battery capacity) displayed 93%. I confirmed the accuracy of that voltage display with my VOM multi meter.Pressing the start button caused the blinking to stop. The voltage display went to 14.8 volts, 10.0 amps, and the VOL (battery capacity) walked its way up to 100%. So at that point I deduced that the charger was in float mode. No fan activity because there was no load on the charger.After a minute I hit the STOP button and the display showed 13.1 volts, 0.0 amps, and 100% VOL

Great car battery charger. This is very easy to use, I just follow the directions carefully to make sure I'm doing and connecting my car battery to this charger correctly. The charger has a digital display on the front that's easy to read and understand. This charger can also identify if the battery I'm charging is a 12 volt or a 24 volt battery. I would definitely recommend this product and I would buy this item again it's worth the money spent.
