Forest Shuffle is an amazing game. You need to play it multiple times to realize how many combinations there are and how to score the most points. If you do this eventually you will reach a point where you can kind of break the game a bit, but it requires multiple plays. This small expansion does just enough to change things up and give you new ways to score. If you have limited plays of the base, you don't need this yet, however, if you have played it as much as we have this expansion is nice to give you some different ways to score points. Most importantly it gives you more points for your butterflies. You get some more trees, some other cards too, but most importantly you get ways to balance out some of the ways people would normally win the base. Nice job here.

We really love this game. Easy to learn, quick to play and the illustrations really draw you in. A good lightweight game to introduce to people new to card-based / deck-building games.I invested in card sleeves after our first play through as it was obvious this game will have replay appeal with our friends. We also picked up the Alpine Expansion set after the first play.I do wish some of the previously released expansion cards were easier to find or were reprinted, but the Alpine Expansion is a solid addition that adds a little more variety and balance / alternative paths of scoring to the game. Love it, highly recommend!

My Husband owns the base game and this is an easy to learn addition to the game. It adds alpine animals to the board, about 40 cards. The box is small and only holds about 40 cards. The cards are either meant to be added indefinitely to the base game or separated out every time. Design of the box and cards are beautiful! But so is the game! It does not add any longer pacing to the game, just new species and animals.

Pricey but adds in some welcome new elements. The base game, although enjoyable, can, after a person plays it a few times, reveal secrets to get ahead giving them an advantage over newer players. This expansion makes it more difficult to game the game. Some of the expansion features can be confusing, and the rules don't help resolve most of those, forcing you to search on-line for how others have resolved those. Happy to have made the purchase. Enjoy the game. AND, I appreciate that the game developers work toward environmentally conscious packaging solutions.

A must have if you like forest shuffle. We added it very quickly and had no real troubles with rules. More cards, and more combos!Excellent!
