We use these in small spaces

Exactly as you would expect, except maybe a little better. Heavier than I had anticipated, but otherwise the perfect way to connect our horse and goat water to keep it full all the time. The design doesn't require any extra pieces or electric. Just the hose and watering bucket or trough. My only wish is that there was a valve/handle to stop the water so that it could be turned off on the spot for any cleaning, without needing to shut off water at the house or barn, and then have to drain the hose.

I use it on the trough for my sheep and donkey. It works well and has not caused any issues, no overflows or water loss. I like that it's a metal construction, those plastic ones don't seem very sturdy. I would definitely recommend this set, it's a set of 2 which comes in handy if you need them. I'm using the second one to keep the chicken waterer topped off, just had to buy another hose. Both work well and keep my livestock and me happy! The price is good, they work well and look good, and no plastic leaching into the water!

I have a number of solar irrigation setups in the garden, each drawing water from a bucket several times a day. These float valves make sure the buckets are topped off so there's always water in them.The additional hardware tells me that the vendor/manufacturer wanted to make sure to include everything in the box to get me up and running. Unfortunately, all the fittings are 1/2 inch NPT and my setup involves garden hoses with 3/4 inch GHT fittings so I had to buy separate adapters. I was surprised how much Teflon pipe thread tape I needed to seal the 1/2 inch connections to keep them from leaking. Thankfully, the tape was included, and now I've got everything working the way I'd hoped.

There's not a whole lot to say with these products. They have a float inside the metal housing that when the water pushes up against it the water gets shut off. Overall I'm happy with the floats and they work well, I was just a little disappointed at how thin and cheap feeling the fittings were. They say stainless steel but feel like aluminum. Hopefully they hold up over time with use and if so they are worth what they're being sold for.
