Roland is known as THE drum machine to have, so I needed to pick one of theirs. The quality is outstanding and it is sturdy. This is thing is so powerful though, that I am still learning about it watching youtube videos to figure out the tricks. So I would say that to a point it is easy to use, but on some things like saving a separate drum set and naming it, I just learned that. The price is amazing for all the things that this can do and I still have yet to learn how to do. Yes, I love that this is portable and runs on batteries if I want to play with drum sets out of my computer room. It has both standard in+out midi ports and 1/4" phono audio inputs+outputs. **Q: Can i plug this to a 220-240 volts power source?** A: You would need to use the appropriate TR-8S power supply for 220 volts. The power supply that comes with the TR-8S is rated for 110 volts. **Q: Why is this less expensive than the 101? Are there less features?** A: They are pretty different in what they do. I dont have a 101 but i’ve heard of people having both for this reason. The sequencer is great and easy to use on the fly. Great selection of built in effects as well. Only downside is the limited ability to arrange patterns into full tracks. You can set up to 8 patterns to play in order in a loop.
