The nice thing is the part that holds the device is flush with the surface of, in this case, the desk. I have the heavier steel ones that elevate a phone, for example, up maybe an inch from the surface of the desk. They serve different purposes. These are a simple design, but I like mine a lot. It is nice to use if you have a meeting or if you want to watch something on your phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy 24, which is a bigger phone. Only downside is that if the phone is plugged in you can't have it sitting upright it has to be on its side. This also folds up really nicely, so it is easy to take on the go!

I first bought this to replace a tubular design that left my iphone always SE falling into the space in the middle when I touched it.This one is solid, a good support, and easy to use the phone while on it without having to picking up the phone. Folds down to toss in a bag to carry with you. So far, after about a month, it still seems very sturdy. I've bought two so far for different rooms and plan to buy a third.
