Punching 2 to 3 times Its Price!
So I got this microphone with no particular expectations, but I did need a microphone to have at a secondary location. However, my budget would not allow me to get what I use for the content I normally correct which is Marantz MPM-2000u Microphone. The TLDR is I am beyond impressed with the sound quality of this microphone for the price of admission. So lets get into the list of pros and cons!Pros:-Universal Plug and Play- Plug in and just works (tested on MacOS Catalina, Windows 10, and Manjaro Linux)-Solid build quality (has a nice metal feel and weight to it even though its much smaller than my Marantz)-Sound quality- I could rant and rave for hours about this but my expectation were low and I have now had to readjust what my expectations of the sound quality of lower cost mics do to this one. ( I would put the sound quality just slightly behind the Blue Yeti)-Price- The barrier to entry for Podcasting, Gaming, content creation etc just got lowered. This is hands down a great starting microphone for any new content creator, or gamer looking for a low cost streaming microphone.-Physical Volume Control- This has a physical volume button on the actual microphone which is a great thing to have if you have ever done any audio recordings (this is something my 100+ dollar Marantz mic doesnt even have)Cons-No headphone jack- So you cant monitor your own audio but given the price it is understandable-USB cord- The USB cord is built into the mic so it is not replaceable cord is decent length but could be maybe just a bit longer though at this price for the microphone does it really matter?-Sound quality- I know i put this as a pro a very big one this is more for audiophiles etc. While this mic punches in a weight class 2 to 3 times its price in sound quality, this mic will pick up some background noise that those more expensive mic more than likely wont. Those are really the only "Cons" and they are not really cons more critiques for Fifine for when they do their next version of this mic. This is a quality microphone hitting well above its weight class.

Easy to install and use.
Works well, at a very attractive price. Installation was automatic in Windows 11. I've been told that sound quality is very good by others on a Teams meeting.

Is it Great? I Don't Know.
I bought this FiFine because of the great reviews and I'm on a budget. I was looking for a nice USB mic that would be durable and portable for my vagabond lifestyle and while the sound quality is great, it's not exactly wonderful. What do I mean by that? Well ...... from what I've been able to hear, it has a sound output very near to my own voice. Which is good. Just like the Gatekeeper, I have a lovely singing voice. However, it doesn't sound all that different than when I'm using my JBL E55BT headset. In fact, there's a little something worse than my headset's audio pickup: the FiFine picks up a lot of ambient noises.A lot. I first tested the audio out in an enclosed room in a busy office. The mic picked up my voice from as far away as I could run the USB cable, even if the output was significantly lower in volume. But whether the mic was 5 feet away or 5 inches away, it picked up the goings on outside my door. It even picked up road traffic from about 40 feet away. And that's not all! It also picked up the rustling of my clothes and my keyboard typing - pretty much everything. For the rave reviews I was expecting better. So, I went to the FiFine website and read up on this. Turn the volume knob down on the device. Check. Turned it down to about the 1/3 area. Turn the volume capture down on my computer. Check. Turned it down, as well. I played with a number of settings trying to find the right set-up to capture my voice without capturing everything else as I'm almost never in a soundproofed room or have control over my environment. I finally settled on 1/3 on the FiFine knob and about 1/4 on the computer. Is this perfect? No. For two reasons: it means I have to have the mic in my face in order to pick up my voice and I don't like things that close to my face unless we're being intimate or I'm eating. And from perusing the comments and reviews here, I can see this ambient sound issue is par-for-course. But, people with far more experience in vocal recording seem to think it's great, so I don't know if there's something I'm missing or maybe I'm just expecting too much.On a positive note: I like that it comes with it's own stand and the full metal construction makes me believe it will be durable. Granted, other reviewers indicate that may not be the case. And it worked in my Chomebook. I tried using Audacity via the built-in Linux on my Chromebook, but apparently sound recording via Linux to Audacity is still hit-or-miss and I missed. Through the Chromebook itself, though, there don't seem to be many problems. If you're using a Chromebook and can't get it to work, you might want to check all the USB ports and they're not all the same. At least on my ASUS.

Great little mic!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this as my first upgrade but still at a beginner’s level. What I love: It’s super easy to use. You literally just plug it in and it’s ready to go. It immediately improved my audio quality and therefore also made my editing a lot easier too. What is just so-so: It is nice is that it does come with its own tripod but it isn’t very pose-able. The mic itself can only be tilted up or down and the tripod can only able to be used in the position shown in the photos. But it sits well and is very sturdy.I read about this brand in a book by a long time VO and it was the brand he started his career with.Pink is my favorite color; so this to me is super cuteI can’t wait to try it with a mic stand. It has a USB plug and play cord and so far that is working well. At this point I’m not sure about the durability but it has a nice solid feel so I’m guessing that it is well built but I will only know that for certain after using it for some time.So far one week into using it and I am very happy with this purchase. I can see using it for quite a while to get up and going before I’m ready for another upgrade. For the price point 5 stars.
