This Nook Ezze-Mount flanged single bearing support with a steel housing and single radial contact bearing is suitable for mounting ball or acme screws perpendicular to a surface. The steel housing mounts on its back face and has a machined piloted surface for accurate mounting positioning and stability during operation. The mounting surface can face towards or away from the drive end. The precision single radial bearing sealed in the housing provides radial support to the linear screw. This single bearing support permits the linear screw to flex naturally for extended travel nut and screw life, and is for use with either the double bearing support or high capacity fixed bearing mount. The bearing is prelubricated and sealed to extend its service life, and comes with spacers, replaceable seals, a locknut, and a washer. It mounts to type 1N standard machined screw ends, and requires grade 8 hex socket-head cap screws for mounting (not included). This flanged bearing support is suitable for linear motion applications requiring high axial rigidity and low friction, such as machine tools.Mounted bearings combine a bearing mounted inside a housing unit. The bearing housing replaces the need for a casting or weldment to position the bearing securely for reliable operation, and its design determines the type of insert bearing. Insert bearings use rolling elements (ball, cylindrical, spherical, barrel, needle, spindled, or tapered) to maintain the separation between moving parts to reduce rotational friction, and to support radial and axial loads. Available in a variety of materials and mounting configurations, mounted bearings can be one- or two-piece, they can have an extended inner ring and locking device, and they can have seals and end caps that retain lubrication and protect the working parts of the bearing from environmental debris. Mounted bearings support shafts in a variety of mounting configurations (flange block, hanger, pillow block, and take-up block), and are used in a range of applications from light duty shaft guidance on conveyors to road building equipment and crushers. Nook Industries manufactures mechanical and electro-mechanical actuators, assemblies, and components. The company, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Cleveland, OH, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
