Julius-K9 Color and Gray Collar, 20 mm (27-42 cm), Black-Grey

I have the old version which I brought a year ago but forgot to review lol.The collar is very nice quality, thick, robust, and feels well made. I use this as my dog's typical walking collar and it gets used every day, it's still in great, almost spotless condition after a year and is pretty much waterproof.The only issue I've had with it is that my dog has been able to pull out of it while it's being held by the handle. It's only ever happened when I've had her intentionally lunging during bitework and never out in public thankfully. Of course, that can happen with any flat collar and might just be due to my dog's weird head shape (German Shepherd x Belgian Malinois but her neck is same width as her head), but for this reason, I would not recommend using this for your dog if it is very reactive or determined to escape.Definitely worth the price. Best flat collar I've brought.

Love the colour fits my dog perfect

Brought this collar as I had heard good things and liked the idea of a handle on it.I've been very impressed with it indeed, it's very well made. The handle is handy for times when needed like moving away from the front door etc. The o ring you connect the lead to is a good size and very sturdy. The collar folds back on its self covering the buckle which I think is a very good idea.For anyone that wants to personalize it there is a velcro tag which can be removed and replaced with a name or warning etc. I personally have just left the standard manafactured one.The thickness takes some getting used to visually espically if coming from a thiner collar but I really like the look now. But that said you can get a thinner one but I believe you don't get the handle with that one.Highly recommended and wouldn't hesitate to purchase again in the future.

I've bought two of these as they're so good. That way when one gets filthy at the beach I can switch to the spare one while I wash and dry it. It's definitely a good quality material, nice and wide so it's comfortable and the sturdy buckle with velcro closure combination means it's nice and secure. My lab did manage to break free from it once, but I think the velcro was so full of sand and grass etc that it hadn't closed securely and he saw a squirrel, so you know how that goes. I've paid a bit more attention to keeping the velcro clean and haven't had any other problems. One of the big reasons for choosing this is that my dog loves swimming in the sea, which destroyed all of his previous collars in no time so I was hoping this would be a more waterproof option. It is - but it's not perfect - the metal ring for his lead and id tag has become a little rusty over time, but nothing to worry too much about - it's still a LOT better than any of his previous leather and metal colllars.

Well, after almost a full year of wrestling a harness onto my pup, Julius k9 harnesses included (though, definitely easy to put on/good harnesses) I decided to try walking him on his collar.We go out every Sunday & every Sunday I have to crawl into his pen and force the harness around his neck where he then sits looking sorry for himself until physically dragged out the door.Upon arrival at our destination he rubs his body against furniture trying to remove harnesses of all brands & styles, and generally sits with no energy like a little sad puppy.We've got to the stage the word Walk sent him into his pen as he knew the harnesses were coming.This Sunday, I clipped the collar around his neck and attached the lead, a couple of confused seconds later he sat at the door ready to go.Arrived at put destination, he was an all round nightmare puppy causing chaos (this is a good thing, I think?) and when we got home again he refused to come indoors, I had to walk him around the block before he'd come in.Truly a new dog walking experience, for sure it's a collar - so unfortunately choking is a given when he pulls, but it's wider than typical collars so that limits the potential for damage to be caused and with the handle etc included I definitely feel in control of him.A harness certainly feels the nicer more friendly option, but when the dog refuses all the harnesses I have to offer there's clearly something about the collar that works for him I can't argue with it.This will be our new norm, although I have no doubt there will be a time/place for the harness.

Good points first. Superb price. We love the look of this collar, we have the regular K9 harness, the orange and grey lead and the orange and grey harness, both of which are super quality and sturdy, sure to give years of wear!We got this collar to match the harness and lead in same colour combo and as we loved the aforementioned so much, we had high hopes for this one too.Firstly, the clip is so damned fiddly, we were trying for nearly 2 mins to undo it and in the end resorted to making the collar bigger to get it over our dogs head as he was getting quite restless with us faffing about! Now before people say we must be a bit dim that we can’t open a push in buckle clasp, we know what we are doing, but for some reason the one we had was ridiculously stiff and difficult to spring open?!Secondly, there is no ring to hang the dog tags from, other than the big chrome one which the lead clips to, simply not good enough!Lastly, where one end of the collar has to pass through the lead ring, it looks like it sits awkwardly round our dogs neck, I wouldn’t want to wear it, so I won’t make him!Such a shame they have over complicated a simple collar, yet managed to leave the all important dog tag ring off?!We have decided to stick with our ruffwear collar which is perfect, just not as matchy matchy.
