Lukas : Alkyd Medium 5 : Painting Butter 750ml

Used only a couple of times so far. It was just what I wanted for an impasto paint effect.

Container must of sat on shelf for a while. 1/2 of top was hard as a rock. Was happy with the way it works though

Great for enriching and extending oil paints while building impastos in a painting. Although I mostly paint in egg tempera with fine sable brushes, occasionally I paint nature scens with a painting knife in oils on panel. I have expended huge amounts of expensive oils in producing this type of work, but now I find that by using the LUKAS Painting Butter I can extend the paint without loosing it's opacity in about a 3 to 1 ration (painting butter to pigmented paint). It uses Alkyd resin, thickening agents and other contents to the mixture. It is non-yellowing, speeds through-drying, and is the perfect medium to build great textures.
