Joyo Vocal Lab subtle
Having an admiration for all things that Joyo produce, I was initially disappointed with the Vocal Lab. The three levels of Reverb: small, medium and large work well enough, but out of the nine harmonics settings, only a couple seem usable for me. I can but make comparisons with other vocal processors I’ve used: the Boss VE-20 has a much more varied set of parameters with much better results. The Roland VT-4 and E-4 voice tweaker fare better and the Behringer Virtualizer FX2000 (albeit you do to need to run it through a mixer) which retails for about the same price, has a very impressive variety of effects and sound manipulation. However, having used Vocal Lab again and again, I can now appreciate it’s subtleties and realise that perhaps my expectations were a little too high as it is Joyo - will there be an Vocal Lab2 with more to offer?

harmony pedal
This is a review of 'JOYO Vocal Harmony Pedal with 9 Vocal Harmony Effects, 12-Key, 3 Reverb Models for Singer and Guitarist Singing (Vocal Lab R-16)'.This is a vocal harmony pedal for enhancing vocals. The pedal is sturdy and connects easily. In addition to 9 harmony effects it has 3 reverb effects too. These are easy to turn on and off using the switch which is nice. Some of the harmony effects sound quite unnatural and odd in my opinion, but there were a few I liked. The equipment also lights up which looks cool and adds to the atmosphere. It's quite an interesting device to play around with and it will be fun to keep experimenting with it to produce some nice music.

OK when it worked
This is not up to the usual standard of Joyo pedals that I have come to expect. From the outset the key selector knob was a bit inconsistent. Sometimes skipping multiple keys and sometimes not advancing at all when turned. After 3 months of use this is now effectively unusable because keys cannot be selected without a large amount of time spent playing with the dodgy controls. Not good/possible when playing a gig.Additionally the power input has begun to act up in the past week or so. This has only ever been powered by a Boss power adaptor.Joyo customer service form does not work (Captcha is broken) and my emails have not been replied to.Outside the Amazon return window or this would be going back.Avoid.

OK
Had this for a while now, pushing the mic though it. On the plus side, it does what it advertises, and seems like well made kit (my first time with JOYO). The effects are quite fun to play with for the first time. I guess the issue is that in real world use, it is a bit gimmicky. I've not yet found a song that any of the effects honestly improve for this solo player. If you are more experienced and know exactly what you are trying to achieve from the kit, then it could be fantastic - but for me, it is more of a fun, gimmick thing to play with when bored rather than something to actually perform with.

Highly fuctioning device for vocals and guitarists
This device had a reverb button and harmony which is a good selection. The only negative is that it doesn't have instrument out button/part which means the vocals and instrument willplay through together or just vocals on their own if you choose this option. Love that it has karaoke.option for vocals and pitch can lowered and high as required. Good functioning device but takes time to get used to it and practice with.

Excellent, well built and great fun!
I'm a guitarist, not a singer, but I have used and been very impressed with Joyo pedals in the past, so I was intrigued to have the opportunity to try this Vocal Harmony pedal. There is so many features and capabilities that this is going to be a long review.First, the pedal is built like a tank so it is not going to be easily damaged. The XLR sockets make strong positive connection with the cables, so no cable is going to be accidently dislodged or kicked out (always a worry with foot pedals!).The microphone socket has phantom power options , so I was able to use both my dynamic and condensor microphones with no problems. You have to select the key in which you are singing (in my dreams I imagine I sing in tune) and you can select from a wide range of voices that add different harmonies and chorus voices to the vocals. To my ears, that really filled out the sound of my voice. The effect is controlled by a footswitch, so it is easy to switch off the effect for a verse and switch it on for the chorus. On the right hand side of the pedal is a reverb section which can, again, be controlled by a second footswitch. There is only on type of reverb - I would say it sounds like being in a medium size stone church - and it works very well for voices. The amount of reverb in the mix is controllable. There is both an instrument and MP3 player jack, so you can feed music into the pedal along with a voice. So I started experimenting with my guitar. I can plug the guitar into the instrument socket and this unit becomes a very interesting reverb pedal (worked very well for clean tones), but the harmonies are only activated on the signal on the XLR socket. So then I tried to plug my guitar in via the XLR socket. It took a bit of work and tuning, but I found I could use the pedal to get some very interesting guitar chorus effects (definitely different to my other chorus pedals).I think this pedal may take a significant amount of experimenting to understand its full capabilities and I'm really looking forward to that. The only negative point that I could come up with is that there is no way to save settings, so if you move from one song to another and change keys you will need to manually adjust the pedal settings. This pedal is a bundle of excellent fun and - like the other Joyo pedals I have used - oozes quality and value for money.Excellent!
