Flimsy and wobbly!
I bought these cubes from the Container Store and I cannot even believe how bad a purchase this turned out to be. We bought ten of the cubes to make a desk plus some storage in my son's room. The cubes have to be assembled, but they don't come with any of the connectors to attach them together -- you have to buy bolts with nuts for $2 a piece. To attach my system together would require 44 of these! Plus the bolts make a significant projection into the cube space so bins will not slide smoothly in. To make matters worse, the whole system is so flimsy and wobbly I wouldn't dare put the desk top they sell for it (which is very heavy) on top. These cubes are really only for lightweight applications where you are not looking for furniture quality.

Good for simple items.
I have 9 of these cubes. I agree they aren't for heavy applications - they are however sturdy enough to support a 32" LCD TV (Vizio). I use them on single level. The only complain I have is that the shelving comes with 4 "levers" but once you lose those, you have to buy a new shelve as they don't sell those separately from the shelves. Yes, the connectors are $1.95 and definitely needed to connect the cubes together. I have a bunch of those as I change the configurations every few months. I still love my cubes though I would never use them beyond 2 highs. Just not enough support.

Easy to assemble, versatile and unique!
We purchased these to use as office and bathroom decor/storage, and we love them. They have to be assembled (it would be cost-prohibitive to ship them pre-assembled), but you don't even need a screwdriver to put them together. They come with directions and all of the necessary hardware. My 5 year old daughter helped me, and by the time we finished putting together the last one, she could basically do it herself.I would not call them flimsy - in fact, they are very solid and sturdy - but they are light enough to attach to the wall. They do not come with wall attachments, so we used our own. You can purchase wall attachment hardware at any hardware store, Walmart, Target, etc.They look great, and we get lots of compliments. I have not been disappointed.Two pieces of advice: 1. you will need a "goo remover" to get the tape residue off, and 2. you can clean the galvanized steel ones with whatever you would use to clean stainless steel appliances.
