Ten action films starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Van-Damme plays the feared Kung Fu bully 'Ivan the Terrible' in the martial arts action film 'No Retreat, No Surrender' (1985). Against all the odds, the central character Jason (Kurt McKinney) is inspired by the ghost of Bruce Lee to get himself in shape and prepare for victory in the fight of his life against the notorious Ivan the Terrible. 'Street Fighter' (1994) is a live action spin-off of the beat-'em-up computer game. Van Damme stars as Colonel William F Guile, the man in charge of an attempt to rescue a group of hostages held by the evil warlord General M Bison (Raul Julia, in his last screen role). Guile's sidekicks include Officer Cammy (Kylie Minogue), snooping TV journalist Chun-Li-Zang and a host of characters familiar from the game. In 'Nowhere to Run' (1993), escaped convict Sam Gillen (Van Damme) is given shelter in the barn of beautiful farm-owning widow Clydie (Rosanna Arquette). A merciless developer (Joss Ackland) is trying to force Clydie off the land, in order to buy it, build there and make a fortune. Sam helps Clydie fight off the developer and his hired killers. 'Hard Target' (1993), the first Hollywood film by Hong Kong action director John Woo, constructs a 'running man' thriller out of a collection of explosions and stunts. Cajun sailor Chance Boudreaux (Van Damme) reluctantly comes to the aid of a female lawyer (Yancy Butler) who is searching for her missing father, a Vietnam veteran. In the course of their search the pair encounter a group of wealthy businessmen, who amuse themselves in the Louisiana swamps by hunting down the homeless. In 'Double Team' (1997), top counter-terrorist agent Jack Quinn (Van Damme) is brought out of retirement to tackle the enigmatic Stavros (Mickey Rourke). However, Quinn's hesitation to shoot Stavros in front of his family results in Stavros' escape and Quinn's imprisonment on a remote island as a punishment for his failure. When Stavros takes Quinn's pregnant wife hostage, he breaks out of his prison and enlists the help of arms dealer Yaz (Dennis Rodman) in rescuing his spouse. Van Damme stars in 'Desert Heat' (1999) as Eddie Lomax, a tortured loner who travels to an abandoned desert highway, preparing to end his life. However, his plans are interrupted when he is attacked by a gang of ruthless cycle thugs, who steal his prized motorbike and leave him for dead. He is then saved by a mysterious figure from his past and, with his will to live now miraculously restored, sets out to take his revenge. In 'Universal Soldier: The Return' (1999), having survived the violence and turmoil of his previous existence, Luc Deveraux (Van Damme) has started a family and is working as a technical consultant on the Universal Soldier programme. The new generation of cyborg soldiers are overseen by the S.E.T.H. supercomputer and are even more deadly than before. Danger arises when S.E.T.H. becomes sentient and tries to negate Deveraux by kidnapping his daughter. With his family at stake, the Universal Soldier must return into action. 'Knock Off' (1998) is set in Hong Kong during the 1997 handover to China. Van Damme stars as Marcus Ray, a CIA agent caught up in a Russian plot to bombard America with thousands of tiny bombs smuggled into the country via Hong Kong. In 'Sudden Death' (1995), Darren McCord (Van Damme) must rescue his little girl from terrorists who have interrupted the Stanley Cup ice hockey final. The bad guys threaten to blow everybody up unless they get a billion dollars from the treasury by the end of the game. McCord has his work cut out if he's going to stop the explosion and retrieve his child before that final buzzer. 'The Quest' (1996) is set in 1920s Tibet. The monks of the Lost City invite fighters from around the world to compete in the Ghang-gheng for a golden statue of a dragon. New York thief Chris Dubois (Van Damme) is determined to get his hands on the statue, and teams up with disreputable pirate Lord Edgar Dobbs (Roger Moore) to obtain it. In order to enter the competition, Dubois must first overcome the reigning champion, Maxie Devine (Jack McGee).

Bit disappointing
I bought this for my husband but it is a bit disappointing. Universal soldier: The Return - is weak and the other films in this selection are only fair.
