Excellent Bible for low cost
I bought a 2022 genuine cow leather version. It looks great; it’s a little soft and feels high end and is very pleasant to hold!I like the vinyl inner lining with extra tape support. It should hold up very well. It lays flatter and better than the over engineered edge lined bibles.Wow, it was printed in India! Love it.The pages are easy to turn ; they are 40 gsm. I did have to unstick all of the gold gilt pages initially. However, that gave me the opportunity to check every page. The black and red letter text is pretty consistent and just dark enough to make it easy to read. It’s listed as a 9 point font but looks larger than that. When I bought this bible, the leather soft was around $36 and genuine leather was $73. This is a great price range for this excellent bible.I gave 5 stars even though this first printing has some quirks. If you want perfection, maybe wait for the second printing to see if these things have been addressed. They aren’t showstoppers for me.A couple of the map pages were not sewn well and the lower portion was loose. Note: the actual text pages are perfectly fine. Anyway, I simply used a little clear scotch tape so the couple map pages are secure now - excellent fix.Another interesting thing is that every once in awhile, sometimes the verse numbers are close to the letter, sometimes even partially touching the letter. It doesn’t happen a lot and does not affect readability. One peculiarity is that sometimes when the red letter of Jesus begins, the line is slightly lower than the black text to the left of the red letter. Once again, readability is not affected. On a few pages there is some minor page dimpling near the gutter with my bible. It is not very noticeable, especially with the wide inner margin.I really like the gold drop caps and using red highlights with all the black text, as well as gold words at the top of pages.I especially like the large inner margin by the gutter. Then the words are always flat on the page to easily read, instead of words rounding down towards the gutter.A few little quirks but I really enjoy holding and using this cultured bible. It has full NKJV notes as well.Oh, I almost forgot to mention that ThomasNelsonBbibles has guaranteed this bible for life! — and I quote: “Thomas Nelson guarantees the quality of this bible.” I have the leather version. The Thomas Nelson guarantee website link is listed on the Bible box, and yes, I registered! 5 stars overall!

The Perfect Bible?
This could be the perfect Bible that exists in the market (at least for me).Positives:1. I love the wide margins on all sides, and the translation.2. The NKJV reads well and is accurate.3. The size of the Bible is perfect for what it offers. I have an RL Allan Widemargin KJV, but it's wider than it's taller, whereas this one has that classic height-width ratio that I'm used to for Bibles.4. It feels okay to use the Bible: what I mean by that is, it is a good quality Bible, but not too good that it makes you feel like you're damaging the Bible if you're using it.5. It's not unwieldy to be carried around. So, you will have the benefit of being able to take notes and to be able to read the same Bible when you're out and about. These are some improvements I would have for this Bible:1. I personally don't like the art gilt, but almost every Bible has it.2. I would have liked Genuine Leather (at least) instead of Leathersoft. (I realized after writing this review that there is a genuine leather option too).3. I would not have the artsy drop cops for every chapter, just at the beginning of each book (after having used this Bible for a few weeks, I have gotten used to the drop caps, and I like them).4. I would like to have words of Christ in black (but I know that NKJV like to keep them in red).

Exactly What I Was Looking For
First of all, all glory to God for such a simple thing as being able to find a great Bible, as many people elsewhere in the world don’t have the luxury of Bible shopping. I’ll also say, that the most important part of a Bible is not the cover or the features, but the Words of God Himself between the cover. With that said, I don’t understand the bad reviews, save for the quality control stuff like torn pages and bad binding. I can be very picky when it comes to my Bibles. I’m sure somebody out there knows what I mean. Most of us had a Bible that had everything that we would want and that helped us develop a taste for what to look for in future purchases. I’ve put a lot of effort into finding the “perfect” Bible the last few weeks—and this one is it, surprisingly, and I’ll tell you why it was surprising later. I was looking for a replacement for my NASB Thinline, Verse by Verse, Red-Letter, Personal Size. I was also looking for a step up in quality, being willing to spend a couple hundred dollars on a Bible. And let me tell you, I searched everywhere—in stores, on Amazon, and evangelicalbible.com (good website for premium Bibles btw) for the right one. There were specific qualities I was looking for:-Verse by Verse format-Font not too big-Nice cover/style-Wide-margins for notes (room on both outside AND inside (can be hard to find inside margin space, especially in a double column))-Double Column-Red Letter-Not too bulky (although this one is bigger than I’m used to, it’s 100% worth having space to take notes and flesh out the text. Even then, it’s not too monstrous to handle as other Bibles with the same features)-No references (but not a deal breaker)-Thicker paper/minimal bleed (this one delivers)-Solid translation (a must—I did a lot of research on translations too, like a lot)-3 Ribbons-Lies flatLet me say, all these features are rarely, if at all found in a single Bible lolI was originally looking for a premium Bible, thinking that premiums would have the features I was looking for since they were so expensive. And really, the premium Bibles, although very nice, only had some or half the qualities I was searching for. I looked at the ESV Verse by Verse Preaching Bible, Schuyler Wide Margin Quentel, and Cambridge Aquila Wide Margin. Finally I stumbled upon this Bible and it grew on me. I was actually surprised that a $40 Bible had pretty much everything I wanted. I was hesitant to buy it since I had my heart set on a $150-$300 premium Bible (fleshly and dumb I know). Do you get the beautiful quality craftsmanship of a Schuyler or an Allen from this Bible? Not even close. But when it comes to God’s Word, it’s best to have functionality over aesthetics imo. And that’s what was driving my decision. This Bible checked 95% of the boxes for me (great odds btw).Cons (although long, I don’t count this is a bad Bible at all, im just being extra picky for the purposes of this review):-This one is a little big (but not a monster by any means) and a little heavy (but hey, plenty of margin space and thick paper for notes).-spine art is a little funky, outside cover looks kind of cheap- small 1 inch tear on bottom of one sheet in the map section-concordance is lacking depth. Some words have a single entry. But it’s literally the back-of-a-Bible-concordance. Just purchase a separate concordance if you want depth.Pros (that I haven’t mentioned):- Line matched- perfect font size- beautiful style on inside- book introductions that provide solid context for those who are new to God’s WordOverall I’m very pleased with this Bible. The cons are completely insignificant compared to the value I find in the pros. I found in this Bible what I couldn’t find in premium Bibles and I am grateful. This will be my everyday Bible for a long time I can tell. Is this the highest quality Bible? Not by a long shot. Does it out perform other Bibles of the same price range? Absolutely, and exceedingly so. And plus, I can mark it all up. My only regret was not getting the Leather cover but it looks like there was some quality issues with that one in the Amazon reviews (4.4 stars if I remember correctly). If you’re looking for craftsmanship, this is not the Bible for you. BUT if you’re looking for functionality based on the same features I was looking for, this one will be a near perfect match for you.

beautiful
This one is pretty and easy to read. The wide margins are awesome for notes and for ease of reading, the white space helps focus the eyes. It is pretty with the color decorative letter and paragraph headings. There are reference verses at the bottom of the page, a concordance with lots of topics, and maps. The leather feels nice though already has a pebble spot flake off, must be bonded leather. The price here reflects that the item is being shipped used even though I purchase new. It's almost like new but the box is rough and open and again the leather has a tiny injury. It's going to get a lot of use with more scratches to come, but real leather feels nice in the hands and its worth the price. The box does state it comes with a lifetime guarantee, so that makes me feel good about the quality of binding. I'm happy with the purchase and bought more for gifts.
