I expected this to be a book of poetry, but it is a child's book. It is fine, but not what I was expecting.

This is the most beautifully illustrated book that I have ever seen. I purchased it for my grandson, and after seeing it, I’m ordering one for me too!

For years to come, our family will treasure this gorgeously illustrated book of one of our favorite poems by Robert Frost. Susan Jeffers outdid herself on this book!

I love this poem by Robert Frost as it holds a special place in my heart as one of the many poets my 5th grade teacher introduced to us that fateful year. I was so pleased to find this book, this poem in particular (which had been memorized by all of us way back when), to be able to share and introduce my children to Robert Frost. The illustrations seemed wonderful and although they are, I was left extremely puzzled by the narrative the pictures painted. I was expecting a long, thoughtful, quiet journey in the woods, which I suppose it is. A man is seen walking with his horse, however he is carrying a book (his life story) and throughout his walk he is visited by ghosts (?), from his past? I found the whole thing quite befuddling and couldn't quite imagine how I would explain this to my children (4 and 6), especially as to how it related to the poem itself, as I myself cannot see a relation at all. This could've been a great book. Will be returning this.

Hardcover. Good quality binding and paper. Beautiful illustrations. A leisurely pace to the classic poem that let's you appreciate the prose.
