5 big power adapters and only one outlet? No problem with the Accell Powersquid
My wife needed a way to plug in all the various implements she uses to make herself even more beautiful - hair dryer, curling iron, flat iron, floor fan - but only had one outlet that wasn't near where she needed to use all these implements in her dressing area.I got her an Accell Powersquid and a more standard power strip thinking she would end up wanting to keep the more standard power strip because of the unusual appearance of the Powersquid.Nope - she wanted the Powersquid. She said that she really liked how it could handle all the different sized, oversized plugs. She also felt that it actually made things neater because she didn't need an oversized (or multiple) standard power strip to handle all the power adapters.Of course, she doesn't fire up all of her implements at once so she can still within the 1800 watt capacity, but it gives her the flexibility and convenience she wants to manage supplying power to all her beauty tools from a single outlet.

Wall mountable, great for large adapter plugs
I purchased this item to attempt to utilize every last outlet in my office. Large adapter plugs were clogging up my traditional straight power strips and making certain ports unusable because the large plugs were partially covering otherwise usable outlets.I had previously purchased a similar power cord adapter without surge protection from another maker, and had used it in my daughter's room to negotiate the same issue. It worked well, but I decided that this adapter with its surge protection, power conditioner and relatively short cord were best for my office. I also liked that I could mount this adapter to the wall and have it hang down in back of my desk, obscuring some of the visual clutter. This device did the trick, and provides 5 surge protected outlets that are designed to be somewhat flexible (not too flexible due to the length of the cords being relatively short...) and can adapt to uneven spacing between hook-ups.This would be a great one for a workshop or a tight space like a bathroom where multiple appliance hook-ups are necessary. While it's not terribly attractive, it is functional and has features that others don't at the same price point. 5-Stars from me!UPDATE: 10/4/13After months of using this product I can now say it's one of my favorite pieces of office equipment. Versatile in a way that power strips are not, any size of plug can be easily placed on this one. I'm very happy with the design and recommend it to friends and family.

Does what it says it will including surge protection - might have given it 5 Stars if it hadn't been over $25!
The "power squids" (five input outlet extender) are one of the smarter accessories a modern electronics user can have, either in the home or for travel. By giving you five separate cords rather than one block or cord with multiple power plugs in it, you can easily use AC adapters as well as standard electric jacks without any crowding. You can get cheap ones without surge protection for around $10 - $15 - this is a "step-up" model with 1080 joules of surge protection (how much of an excess charge it can redirect before the entire unit shuts down to save your expensive electronics!) and a "Noise Reduction Filter" (to clean "dirty" power containing RF interference so you don't get "snow" or "crackling" in your video and audio). To its credit, it works - I've stayed in hotels with power surges and brownouts, and never had to worry about my laptop or iPad.OTOH, I really think $27.42 is expensive given what it does, since similarly-featured surge protectors (though without the "power squid" design) cost about half that. I feel $19.99 would be the ideal cost for this, and I doubt I'd complain at any price under $24.What it does it does well - but given you could get a standard 1080 joules surge protector *and* a non-surge protected power squid for that price, I think it needs to cost less....

Unexcelled convenience
This makes it possible to use one electrical outlet to power 5 separate low-power requirement devices which would not overload the single outlet and avoid the problem of oversize plugs making it impossible to plug in multiple devices to a traditional power strip. Typical power strips may have one or at most two wider spaced outlets to accommodate "Wall Warts" or large plugs but if you have more than two such plugs with those power strips you are out of luck. Plus this unit is grounded and has an On/Off switch so you can turn on/off all the devices at once.

A surge protector without wasted ports
I bought a new switch and I was going to hook it up when I looked at the surge protector that was already in place. It was one of the standard rectangular 5 outlet surge protector and it had two large transformers connected to it, each of which blocked another outlet, and one standard 2 prong cable. That means 2 of the 5 outlets were being wasted and I couldn't plug in my switch. I wanted a surge protector that actually allowed me to use all of the available receptacles (novel concept, right?) and after doing some searching, I came across this one. It had good reviews, so I went ahead and ordered it. I'm glad I did. Now, I have everything connected, including my new switch, and I still have a receptacle left over. If your surge protector just has the standard two prong plugs then you probably don't have an issue, but if you're like most people and have electronics with large bulky transformers, this is the perfect solution to that problem.

This thing really does reduce background audio noise!!!
I bought this as a power conditioner to reduce background noise in my bass signal and oh man oh man I was left on my ass. This thing works so well for the price and it even protect my gear as a bonus! Even better, the design is so brillant I really can use every outlet with any pedal power supply I have! It came the day after I ordered as an other bonus too! The only bad thing about it is that it was a bit dirty but after Γ little clean up its good as new and work so well I couldnt complain. Really the best in the market for the price. It truly changer the way I can use my gear and I absolutely love it. NO MORE HISSSSSESSS!

Seems to work well
This is used to connect multiple PC accessories many have 'fat' plugs that cannot fit a typical multi-outlet power bar, (monitor; external drive, speakers etc etc) from the UPS. It only takes one slot on the UPS and provides up to 5 connectionsIt has screw-head slots to enable it to be hung on the wall, but with the input coming from the top and the 5 outlets from the bottom, I could not see a way to do that tidily (if I had wanted to).

the build quality and durability has always been great. I ordered two of this model and they've ...
I own several other PowerSquids which have served me well over the years, the build quality and durability has always been great. I ordered two of this model and they've lived up to the Power Squid name! Unlike some of the knockoffs the main "head" is sturdy and feels well built, the cables are also solid and don't feel flimsy. The power indicator light/button felt a little loose, but this has always been the case with this brand and I think it's intentional. The brightness of the light isn't overpowering, but still bright enough to tell whether it's on or off in daylight. The PowerSquid design is great, ever since I discovered them I've replaced all of my power bars/splitters. The flexibility of being able to connect adapters and cords of different sizes and at different angles gives you alot of benefits over conventional power bars. Having the outlets spaced apart means you there's no combination of cables/adapters that won't fit. The spacing also allows for better heat dispersion for power adapters which run hot. Being able to angle the direction of the outlets lets connected cables flow more naturally and avoids bending the connection points.I like the idea of mounting PowerSquids on the wall but I haven't tried it with this particular model. I wanted to keep power adapters and cables off of the ground underneath my desk but still be able to move the unit around, I ended up hanging them from a bar by the main cord and using a tiny piece of string to keep the PowerSquid in place. It ended up being both functional and not terrible to look at.My only complaint is I didn't notice from the product images but this PowerSquid is dark green in color. I was hoping for black originally, but the green color doesn't look too bad. Definitely makes it look more squid-like.

excellent product
I own about 10 of these. Just what you need to actually be able to fit all your chargers. Don't know why people still make the straight power bars that you can only plug about 2 or 3 things into when you have large charging bricks (and doesn't everyone these days?) Recommend.

Great protection for your expensive electronics and noise filtration too, cannot be beat for conditioning your power.
This lil gem of a power conditioner and surge protection is awesome for its price and features good to hide behind the equiptment and insure no hi freq interference and hums etc, plug excellent protection and 100000 dollar protection on plugge3d in equiptment. I trust this with over 15 grand worth. You cannot be too careful with electronics when it comes to the new smart meters and their surges and other anomolies. eh hem.
