A little gem
I was rereading Frank Abagnale Jr.'S _Catch Me if You Can_, a wonderful book if you liked the movie, and Amazon recommended this ritter. It's a wonderful l lighthearted look at the lives of airline employees, and a good book for relaxing at the end of the day.

From One Who Knows & Still Laughs
"Around the World" doesn't attempt to change air travel or have great literary impact. It's light entertainment. It helps to laugh when we find ourselves in the bad situations Foss describes so well. From first hand experience, I know the job has its good and bad days, just like any other job. But many of us take pride in our work as safety, customer service and medical professionals. I enjoy making a passenger's journey better, even if it's just a smile and a friendly greeting or a sympathetic ear.Foss does like lists - airline terminology, everything she knows about life, different kinds of flight attendants, passenger types as determined by their trash output. Most of the lists are used effectively. But the dialogue and songs taken from the musical revue of the same name don't read as well on a written page as when performed live on stage. The book is a jaded view from somewhat frustrated with a career. Who doesn't get frustrated some days? But she doesn't claim to represent all of us. And she did make me laugh.

Not everything a fright attendant is super glamorous!
From my neighbor friend where I grew up!Not everything a fright attendant is super glamorous! Some really enjoyable insight from a person who has been there! Lots of really good stories that made some sense of all they do (actually I suppose she (the author) may have gained a lot of insight to the who and why something is as it is.Personally, I really appreciated the side related comments of her father's advice and her mom's history of doing the same thing!

Not sure yet
But it's the sort of behind the scenes book I usually enjoy.

A funny way to understand your job
With this book I learnt to cope with the annoyances of my job and to start appreciating it more, taking it with humor and peace.

A great read
I loved the whole story from beginning to end. I am not a frequent flier but I've flown enough to know that the passengers can be just that way. I was on a flight one time that if the lady next to the window would have given up her seat she would have been moved to first class because my seat would not return to an upright position so my wife and I were both moved up to first class.

Book review
I read this book quite a while ago so heres my review from memory. A great insight into the trials and tribulations of a flight attendant but dont treat it as a book that is a job recommendation because its a" warts and al"l book telling you of the bad side as well as the good i.e living out of a suitcase and the terrible hours it can entail.

Funny and informative
Very funny. I read it on a trip and laughed a lot. Nice to know how flight attendants really see us passengers.

Mildly entertaining
An easy enough read, mildly funny covering the life and antics of a woman who becomes a flight attendant. Great if you just want something to pick up and put down between tasks.

Entertaining
Loved the book as it was something I could totally relate to having been cabin crew for the last 27 years & experienced most of the the things written about by Foss
