Not very good in 2024
Forty years ago we used a tool called a 'Slim Jim'. But forty years ago cars door locks could be opened with a coat hanger and home security was poor. This is not worth carrying as it has very limited effectiveness. It is thin and feeble with a pointless ruler, When I tested it I feared it would break or bend.I can open some standard internal doors with it, but I could do that with many thin flat objects. It will work in some circs but I can nor recommend buying it. I would be very surprised if any firefighter, cop or paramedic has one as part of their equipment.I hope you find my review helpful

Excellent For Stirring Small Tins Of Paint
I showed this to a mate who's a fireman, and he laughed at me. I think that sums up the situation. If you insist on more detail, I'll explain that this is thin and flimsy, and whilst it can be used to slip an internal door catch from the inside (but not outside) of a room, why would you ever want to when you can simply turn the handle above? Even then, just use a credit card or a butter knife. It won't work on a locking door because UK locks have latched deadbolts to prevent them being push-retractable. So, what possible use is this tool?Firemen carry enormous axes and crowbars to get past obstacles. Seconds count in a fire, and they don't have time to piddle around with small toys in their heavily gloved hands. I've repurposed this for stirring small tins of paint.
