Second time customer
I purchased this fabric two years ago to make myself a canopy, it has lasted amazingly well but two years on it has faded in the Sun and some of the clippings have come off that I personally put on so freshening it up. I decided to buy some new fabric. There was only one brand I was going straight to, and that was this. The quality is out of this world. The fabric is super waterproof. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Great quality
This was my first time ordering this waterproof canvas and I was really pleased when I saw and felt it. Definitely will be ordering lots more. Easy to sew and great colours too. There was a slight smell which I am hopeful will disappear during construction.

Strong, Versatile, and Built for the Outdoors – But Heed the Indoor Smell Warning
I’ve used the A-Express 20oz heavy-duty waterproof canvas for several outdoor projects over the past year, and overall, I’ve come to rely on it as a staple for weatherproof tasks. It’s extremely tough, genuinely waterproof, and can withstand rain, cold, wind, and even snow without breaking down. That said, there’s a very important aspect that users need to be aware of before buying—especially if you’re thinking of using it indoors or in semi-enclosed spaces: the VOCs and smell.Straight out of the packaging, the chemical smell is very strong. It’s that harsh, plasticky, almost rubbery scent that clings to your hands after handling it for even a few seconds. This comes from the waterproof coating, which is most likely polyurethane or a similar treatment applied to the dense 600D polyester base. If you bring this fabric into a room without much ventilation, the smell will quickly fill the air. It can cause a scratchy throat, nausea, or even dizziness in more sensitive individuals. I had initially considered using this for a window cover in a camper conversion but had to abandon that idea almost immediately. Even leaving a 1x1.5 metre piece inside a garage left the entire space with a lingering odour after an hour. It’s not dangerous per se, but for anyone sensitive to VOCs or who values clean indoor air, I would not recommend it for internal use unless it has been thoroughly aired for several weeks. To treat the smell, I found a combination of methods helpful. Leaving it out in the sun for multiple days helped speed up the off-gassing process significantly. Sunlight and airflow really do the heavy lifting here. I also washed a piece in a mix of water, bicarbonate of soda, and white vinegar, which reduced the surface residue slightly, though it may compromise the waterproof layer if done too aggressively. After a couple of months of outdoor exposure, including rain and heat, the odour was mostly gone and the fabric became much more tolerable to handle and store—even in semi-enclosed areas like sheds. When used as intended—outside—this fabric is phenomenal. I’ve used it to create a durable tarp for covering firewood, which remained intact and didn’t leak a drop during weeks of rain. I made a bench cover for an outdoor seating area that is still holding strong and hasn’t faded significantly despite constant sun exposure. One of the most practical uses has been as a makeshift canopy during BBQs and garden gatherings. It stretches well without tearing, dries quickly, and sheds water like a duck’s back. I’ve also used it to make a padded tool roll, a heavy-duty backpack base, and even as reinforcement fabric for a wheelbarrow liner. Each time, I was impressed by how thick yet flexible it remained under stress and how easy it was to stitch with a good needle and strong thread. The olive green colour is stylish and blends in well with natural settings like gardens, campsites, or forested areas. I used a metre of it to patch an old pergola roof and another section to line the inside of a dog shelter I built last autumn. It's survived everything from frozen sleet to scorching sunshine, with no cracking or warping. The water beads off cleanly, and even when soaked through in heavy storms, it doesn’t stay damp long. After using it for over a year, I can confidently say it lives up to the “heavy-duty” claim in every way.Despite all these positives, my advice remains the same: do not use this fabric indoors unless it’s been treated or aired for an extended period. Even when cut down to smaller pieces, the coating continues to emit VOCs and chemical smells for quite a while. Over time, especially with sun and rain exposure, the odour does fade and becomes negligible. But right out of the packaging, it’s far too intense for any confined space or enclosed application. In conclusion, this is a brilliant material for anyone doing outdoor projects—from garden covers and camping setups to DIY tarps and weatherproofing fixes. It’s strong, reliable, waterproof, and holds up brilliantly under stress. Just don’t expect to bring it inside straight away. With the right prep and outdoor use, it’s an incredibly useful and affordable tool in your materials arsenal.

LOVE! For bag making
This is the best waterproof canvas I’ve come across and love it for my bag making! I’ve tried several others here nothing compares. The quality is great, the width is amazing and delivery is fast. Worth the money and I’ve brought and used many meters of this stuffWorth pointing out that it is easy to sew on a domestic machine with a jeans needle you don’t need a professional machineThe base of these bags are made using this fabricA wonderful product

great
got it to make new bedding cover for my dog,, it's amazing, stiff yet soft enough to sew on a home machine, waterproof,, doesn't fray at all

Very pleased
No fraying with this stuff. Fairly easy to use, although as stiff firm fabric I got sore fingers doing some hand sewing. But that should mean it is durable. The blood stains wiped off easily with water!I am feeling hopeful they will be water resistant. Four metres did these and another seat cushion and would have been enough for the bench cushion too apart from an error in cutting.

On the fly…
I used the sheet to create a improvised large drone landing pad and it worked perfectly.Appearance:Looks as shown Fabric quality:fabric looks great. Value for money:Much cheaper than buying a landing pad anywhere near the size. I added the holes for pegs in the corner.

NOT "olive" green, just green.
Arrived on time, excellent quality BUT my only gripe is the colour. It looks olive green in the picture, now in fairness, the browser does not always display colours correctly but they are usually not that far off PLUS it also SAYS olive green, and it is most definitely NOT olive green, its just PLAIN green (see photo) SO very disappointed with the colour.
