Perfect humorous gift for expectant fathers
This was a mid-pregnancy gift to my husband, for all the support and love and help he gave me throughout the first 20 weeks. (He really is a doll!) The reading is done by Samuel L. Jackson and the verse is hysterical. (Obviously, if you don't appreciate profanity, you won't like this.) But the most entertaining bit is that the reading is set against gentle instrumental lullabies and spoken in the precise tone of a parent soothing, then pleading, then sobbing at his child to go to sleep. It's so sweetly rendered that you actually COULD play it for a baby - right up until she starts developing her language skills. ;)

Wonderful fun for parents
I purchased this book for a co-worker suffering sleep deprivation due to motherhood. When I read it I laughed until I cried. My son is thirteen, where was this book when I needed it? This is adult humor for the seasoned parent. It is not a book you read to your children (see some of those one star "reviews"). Duh. Whether or not you use the f word, if you are a parent, at some time you have lived this level of fatigue. Very funny!

Exquisite literary delivery most parents will appreciate
We've all been there. All you want is some down time. Maybe an adult conversation. I got this wonderful book for parents in printed format and as the Samuel Jackson audio version. He captures beautifully the parental frustration we all keep hidden deep under the gentle veneer of positive child-parent interaction. Bedtime is such a precious and valuable time. But sometimes ... sometimes, you just want your little urchin to give you a break.

Holly crap
This was such a funny book! I know so many parents that can relate! Definitely not a children's book, but there is a clean version out call just go to sleep.

It won't help you get them to fall asleep, but it will help you feel a lot better about it all when they don't.
I absolutely love it! Any parent would understand the content, and appreciate it coming from anyone other than themselves. I have no idea how other parents may use "Go the *beep* to Sleep", but I like to read it late at night (or early morning) when I really want to sleep and the little one(s) don't. It won't make mine sleep, but it certainly helps me to drop the fatigue and crankiness and lighten the *beep* up.

Go The F to Sleep
Original Review From August 7, 2015 This story is just funny, and a lot of parents can relate to the frustration of trying to get your precious little one to just go to sleep. The audio version, read by Samuel L. Jackson who was perfect, gave a little interview prior to the reading. It is definitely not one for the kiddos, but it’s worth a listen/read. My husband and I listened to it (ironically) after we put our son down for bed…the book does ring so true. Anyway, it’s funny, and worth the price to own. I hope you pick it up and enjoy!

A CD of things you would not say out loud but may think.
It was funny and that's all it was meant to be and who does not love Samuel L. Jackson. This is a story for adults with children. Don't take it seriously and enjoy the shock of the words and how you probably can relate but will never say it out loud.

Don't waste your money.
What a waste of money. All this is is an audio recording of Samuel L. Jackson reading some scripted thoughts expressing frustration that the kids won't go to sleep. I guess it gets all the buzz because the prose is candid and profane. So what? How adding gratuitous profanity to a script that is otherwise not that interesting or funny makes it "Total Genius" (as proclaimed on the cover) is beyond me. And just so you know, I'm not a prudish old fuddy-duddy. I swear myself at appropriate times and even have a pretty high tolerance for kids who are using the "cuss words" that they hear from their elders and you tube videos. But, come on. This gets old real fast. This is obviously an value judgement and yours may well be different from mine. But, don't expect too much entertainment from the 7 minute production on this audio CD unless you're the kind of person who giggles every time you hear someone drop an F-bomb.
