Awesome game. I purchased this for my brother after playing it at a friend's house. It's interesting enough to keep you thinking but not so difficult a newbie cant understand it the first time they play.

Got the digital version and wanted a physical one. Did not disappoint. Quality of pieces and packaging is very solid. I have a licensed version that definitely is not as nice (and not as fun). The game is great for my 10 year old. It’s takes a while and is mostly luck based but it’s fun and has lots of character variation. Recommended.

Its been almost 40 years since i played this game and i still think its one of the best board games ever made, my siblings and I used to spend days even weeks playing it, i bought it for my son to introduce him to piece of my childhood and to take him away from computer and it worked! He loves it! i only wish the new edition would add ‘the town’ and ‘the cave’ expansions

We play this in 2-player set up with a 10 yr old. He was able to pick up the rules and likes the game very much. Me, not so much. In a two player setting it is very easy to fall into a state in which one player effectively controls the game dynamics and can make a game last forever. There is no way to loose on purpose. It would be nice if there was a mechanism to kill your character or a limit of times they can respawn I feel the characters are not well balanced and there are some that are clearly better and after a few games it is easy to pick that up. Games can take anything between 30 minutes to multiple hours. It is not a casual game. The actual set is of nice quality. The figurines look very nice. I am giving it 4 stars in the hope that gameplay is better with more players. For two players is more like a three.

Fun, easy to learn and high replayability. Once you get the steps of a turn down, it goes pretty quickly.

This is the Classic Talisman game of yore that everyone loves! There are some changes in the edition, like only being a Toad for 1 round instead of 3, but that could be for the better. Getting toaded was the worst part of the game. We used to play this game all summer in my teen years, spending 3-4 days on a single game. Too bad we can't be like that anymore. The game has changed, for the better! Having just played a few games, there are some really neat changes regarding Toads, many spells are now different, and there's a new space on the opposite side of the Sentinel called the Cavern that transports you to different areas of the board. Now, the Crown of Command is protected by a Strength 10/Craft 10 Dragon you must fight before you get it. The minis are now very detailed and large, fitting into their own spaces in the box. There's new art for everything, and the artwork is gorgeous! They really upped their game (pun intended) on this release. A lot of thought and effort went into making this a great game like its earlier versions. To make it simpler, this game is like D&D, and Monopoly had a kid. Amazon did me a solid and delivered this weeks before anyone else gets their paws on it. I recommend this game for teens and above. It makes a great gift for Boardgame collectors!

without question one of the best board games i could’ve bought for my husband (and unintentionally, myself)! we’ve both been looking for a board game that takes a little more thought and strategy, mixed with our love of fantasy rpg games, and this does that beautifully. we’ve enjoyed the game play, and have even purchased the expansion boards as well. 100% recommend.

Bought as something to do other than watch films at Christmas, but I thought we’d play a couple of times only. We’ve played it so much more. With just two of us we like it best to have two characters each, makes it more interesting. Good quality components, fun to play. It takes a few hours for someone to win and it’s fun at every turn

Talisman fifth edition is a great update of the classic adventure board game. I previously owned the second edition when growing up and literally played this game for hours and hours. I can honestly say, being able to play an updated version of the game with my own children is truly magical. The game play is very similar to previous additions. It’s simple to set up but does require a good amount of table top space. The rule book is large, clear and easy to follow. Play time can be anything between 1 to 2 hours, however, we find, by using our own house rule’s we are able to speed this along quite a lot, making the game even more enjoyable. The option to choose from 12 characters really adds to the fun of the game. The troll is probably one of the strongest and easiest to play, a great option for new or younger players. When playing with our children, we avoided picking magical characters for the first few games. This helped to keep the game play simple. What makes this talisman addition stand out for me is the quality of the figures. They have wonderful details and I found them very easy to paint. I used a black undercoat and then dry brushed the highlights in white. I then use transparent oil paints to add colour. The magic of adventure board gaming is still here. This is a great opportunity to relive your youth or introduce a whole new generation to table top board gaming.
