A wonderful introduction to hydroponic gardening!
Let me preface this brief review by saying that I am new to hydroponics but NOT new to gardening or plants in general.I had been on the fence about trying hydroponics for a while. As an avid gardener I always that these systems were a) part hype, and b) almost a way of ācheatingā on the normal growing process. As the normal planting season started to wind down I found myself wanting to find a way to keep on sprouting, so I decided it was time to start playing with hydroponics.I researched hydroponic garden systems for quite a while before deciding to try iDoo. My search started with the better-known brand, but as I learned more I found that the features I was most interested in were available at a much more reasonable price point. I decided that this system had everything I needed to start playing with hydroponic gardening.I couldnāt be more thrilled with my decision! Long story short, in less than a month I went from owning one unit to my current setup of FOUR machines. I will never give up on my love for traditional gardening (or for succulents and other types of plants) but I am incredibly happy that I continue to grow some of my favorite things all year round now!A few of my favorite features:1. Germination and growth really does happen at at accelerated rate - even in comparison to proper greenhouse conditions. I have used my iDoo machines successfully grow herbs and veggies from seed - and I have also transferred other seedlings into the sponges with great results as well (although this method requires more skill and effort.)2. The water reservoir (in the 6.5 L model) is larger and deeper than those of most systems at a comparable price point.3. Most off-brand pods and accessories are compatible with this system - which means you can shop around and save money on replacement parts if you are so inclined.4. The app, although basic, is useful if you need to modify your light schedule for any reason whatsoever.Cons - albeit minor ones:1. It is hard to modify the lighting schedule for the non-smart version of this garden.2. It is much easier to see the water level, and visualize your plantsā roots system (with the help of a flashlight or by lifting the tray) in the white model.3. I wish these kits had included the trellis, which I had to purchase separately, or any kind of external supports to use for plants that grow rapidly - which will be most! I have seen these kinds of accessories included in much cheaper kits, and they would be a very useful addition to iDooās systems without costing the manufacturer much at all!If you are seriously considering this system - just buy it! It is built well, works as expected, and easy enough to be used by gardeners of every skill level.(Side note: if you plan to grow basil, tomatoes or any other kind of root-happy plant - buy the 6.5 L version!)

So far, itās amazing!
So Iāve been using this hydroponic system since October (2 months). So far things have been growing great and very quickly. Itās easy to use and the only problems I have are managing my plants in the tight space but Iāve made use of a wooden trellis that didnāt work very well, then I purchased metal plant shaping wire and that has helped keep them much more stable and separate. Some plants have huge leaves and you might need a test group of crops initially to get the idea of how big everything will grow and how to position all your seeds for your next grow. This is my first time using a hydroponic system and it was very simple to use, easy to follow instructions and a nice variety of seeds to start with. The large water tank is wonderful for not having to fill it up too often, of course depending on what you plant you may need to fill it up more often than some others. But I only fill it maybe about once a week or every other week. The lights turn themselves on and off and all the other functions like the water pump and light options work perfectly. I will update when my plants are eventually harvestable!

Easy to set up and start growing
The media could not be loaded. Set up is easy. My three year old claimed this one as his so he can watch it grow. I love that I just have to set the timer to the type of seed I put in and it goes on and off by itself. The water pump also will run in spurts to circulate air throughout. I am extremely pleased with the results weāve gotten so far. I even moved my pepper plants in with the flowers we had growing because they got to large for my other system.

Total Fail!
Works as a hydroponic garden. It is made from thinner plastic than the AeroGarden. It has a bigger tank. The pods, sponges and dome is about the same in both. The AeroGarden is slightly bigger. The sticky labels are too big for their pod so it makes the plastic dome not fit properly but it fits the AeroGarden pods. So the dome will fit the pod if you don't use the label or you need to trim the label so the dome fits. The light is too small for the garden. I have both setup up right next to each other and the plants in the AeroGarden are twice as big as this one. Plus the plants in this garden were leaning to the grow light I have for the AeroGarden, seems the AeroGarden is closer to sunlight. It was interesting to see the plants leaning toward the AeroGarden light. The AeroGarden light is pretty hefty compare to this light which is very thin and lightweight. It is close but needs updates to compete with AeroGarden. It is cheaply made so the price is too high for the low quality.Update: I woke up to find that the plants had fallen over!!! The pods do not fit in securely in their holes, so there is nothing to keep the plants from falling. Plus the height limit on the lamp is too low. In comparison the AeroGarden right next to it the tomatoes plants are in the upright position. The AeroGarden also has an arm that I can attach to secure the plants. Also I am only at the halfway point in height for AeroGarden while this garden is at the max. If you are only planning on growing lettuce this works but for any other plants that need support this will not work at all.Update July15, 2022: The pump has failed. Don't waste your money on this item!
