Used a couple of times, mostly just riding around in my backpack, and then the ratcheting mechanism fell out, making it completely unusable.

I got this to work on my car stereo stuff where I have amps tucked up under the seat and it's impossible to get a regular screwdriver in there. Works great and saves a heck of a lot of time and effort taking the seat out. Just what you need to get to screws in tight spaces, and the ratcheting function is makes it easier to use for sure. Made quick work out of what would have been a big hassle of a job.

You know the quote "Better to have one and not need it, than to need it and not have one." It definitely applies to this. The ratchet comes separate from the bits and does not fit in the case. Personally, I don't use the bits. The cost is worth the ratchet by itself. I have the ratchet in a bigger ratchet set. Its so small that it fits int he bigger set like it belongs there. The build quality is impressive. the plastic is a very hard plastic with no flex. The metal is a fairly heavy gauge for the size. I mean, I would not use it as a breaking wrench, but it does the job for most bolts, and really shines as a ratcheting Allen wrench. The switch for changing direction has deep gear like grooves that help when I have oil on my hands.I have found multiple situations, from working on headlights for a truck, to putting together a rack for the garage, where they actually expect you to use an angle allen wrench to screw in 40 screws with no ability to spin the allen completely around.For the price and compact size. This product is worth simply saying "Get one".

This is a handy little set for light duty work. The selection of bits is well-chosen. I like the case and the ratchet’s matching finish. I used to joke to a female friend that tool sets were jewelry for men. All those sparkling little pieces lined up in a specially made box … all those things you can do with them when you know how!The first job I did with this set was to build an end table with a glass top. This went together with 16 bolts. A hex wrench was provided, but all the bolts required taking it out and putting it back in after a half turn, all of them needed a lot of turning, and the design required repeated tightening and loosening to get all the bolts to fit in place at once. I honestly think that would have taken about three hours with a hex wrench. As it was, I used one of the hex bolt bits provided in this set, and it took me less than an hour. The job was still exasperating and fiddly, but having to fit and remove a hex wrench about once a second would have been infuriating.That one hex wrench fitting has already done a ton of work and been used to tighten the bolts down with considerable force once they were all aligned. It is none the worse for wear as a result. So I have confidence this little set will last and provide good service for years to come. Now that I have it, I would not want to be without it.The one thing I would suggest is enlarging the case so the ratchet goes in it, so you can’t lose one or the other and end up scrabbling for the part you can’t find. But considering how quickly this has become indispensable to me, it would be heartless to withhold a star for no more than that.
