It does pretty much what you'd expect with very little vibration transfer, even in quite strong wind. It's not cheap soft low-density foam - it's a nice firm foam that won't deform in strong airflow. For anyone wondering, it fits a Rode NT1 perfectly, and is just about the right tension to grip very well. The depth is spot on too, giving perfect cover without any unused space at the top - it's also just about the perfect snugness for the NT1 and definitely won't slip or move once fitted. I'm very happy with this shield. Star ratings: amazon wanted a star rating for "sheerness" ... and I've left that blank. I'm guessing that this category is added automatically, because I'm not sure what "sheerness" means in terms of a wind shield : ) Does anyone want a sheer windshield? LOL 5/5 ...
