Convenient and worth buying if you're a home cook
5 stars for providing the safety gloves. I've used this to cut potatoes for side dishes (gratin) and vegetables for salads. It's quick, sharp(!), convenient and relatively easy to wash by hand.

It does the job, the item being sliced catches on the top plate on the return stroke which I find awkward, I've used mandelins for many years and never had this problem

Dangerous flaw
Quality overall is not bad. However, it does have one dangerous flaw. After slicing an item, it catches on the edge of of the blade insert on the return and can cause your hand to slip and potentially slice a finger. This can makes it very dangerous and so should never be used without protection, no matter how far away from the blade you are when you begin using it.
