The S12.4 powered studio subwoofer builds upon KRK’s legacy for sonic accuracy and stellar performance. The custom-made, Kevlar woofer delivers ultra-tight, defined bass, while the Class-D power amplifier dramatically increases transient response, control, and punch. The four-position selectable crossover lets you adjust the subwoofer setting easily to your existing monitors. Pairing the S12.4 with KRK or another studio monitor delivers an optimized listening and mixing experience with extended low end, while the exclusive bypass-control feature provides full range audio to the monitors without switching off the subwoofer. The powerful S12.4 subwoofer doesn’t just deliver precise, ultra-low bass and a rich feature set: it’s the next dimension in subwoofer performance. Review: Massive and Heavy - I was first struck by how huge this thing is, it’s also very heavy. The build quality is great, I would imagine the magnet is a hulking thing, not sure what the cabinet is made of maybe abs plastic perhaps. Now this thing puts out bass you can feel, window rattling bass, oh so much bass! It is also well behaved, within a half hour or less of no signal and she’s in standby mode, not half a day like that garbage Klipsch sub that lasted barely over a year, or that Polk sub that was defective right out of the box! I would recommend this sub very highly, if you’re scared by the price, don’t be, it’s worth every penny, remember, you get what you pay for. Runs circles around my previous two subs. Review: Does bass <30hz & does it with accuracy. - A perfect match to my KRK V4S4 with the crossover set at 80hz. My JBL LSR310 sub had problems keeping up with the V4S4 output, even at -3db. Turning the JBL up to match output caused it to bottom out on bass heavy movies. The S12.4 stays clean & makes the bass needed to blend with the V4S4 with headroom to spare. Combined they are a soundbar killer. I've never heard a $4k soundbar but I'm guessing that's the starting point to match SQ of my set up. I'm using a Geshelli J3 DAC with V7 Classic opamps & a Topping A70 Pro as the preamp.

Super, Amazing!!!!!
Amazing words can not describe the pure quality of this product. KRK has done it again. 2 issues I am running into, you will need to spend a lot of time in messing and adjusting the sounds and acoustics in your home studio to truly maximize and hear the low frequency that this beast puts out. 2nd I do have to say that I am not able to connect more than two monitors as I have tried and the sub will not power more than two. My old sub you see in the pic I connected all 4 monitors and they were working fine. The distributer was quick and I received my package within a week. 10 inch is probably more than enough but I went with the 12 to record a live set outside in the open.

KRK's for life!
Very nice, clean monitor bass. Solid design.

Fills in where the monitors stop
At first I got this because I'm petty and our neighbors like to play trash rap on a garbage Bluetooth speaker at 4 AM. Since they moved, I have come to truly appreciate the extra octave of low frequencies heard and felt by including this with my KRK8s. To maintain objectivity, I added a foot pedal to on/off the sub. The response is quite linear. The effect is impressive from low volumes all the way to SPL that would inspire my new neighbors to buy an even larger subwoofer than this.
