How does the self-cleaning feature work? do you have to use the self-cleaning feature?

The self cleaning feature is activated through a switch that is labeled on the back of the unit. You must press and hold the switch for 5 seconds in order to activate the self clean cooler, this will disinfect all your internal components as well as your water holding tank. You can use the self cleaning feature whenever you want just keep in mind that once active, you cannot dispense water for 30 minutes. We recommend cleaning your cooler 2-4 times a month possibly before you go to bed.

What temperatures are the hot and cold water ?

You can make it hotter or colder by 3 degrees by letting the water run into the pan for one to two seconds before filling the cup. There is ambient temperature water in the lines if not used for a while. You can tell by feeling the water temperature with your hand when dispensing the water. But don't put your hand under the hot water.

What are the dimensions for the fill area, from spout to drip tray

It is 9 inches from bottom of the 3 spouts to the top surface of the drip tray. However, you can fit a 10" tall container in if you lean it in past the dispenser spout before placing on the drip tray.
