The Dickens Collection Audio CD – CD, 13 Oct. 2011

I just love these discs. The reader is wonderful and the stories are of course amazing....I hope Martin Jarvis has done more....His voice is definitely THE BEST....He has a wonderful way of making Dickens characters come to life...I highly recommend this collection.

So looking forward to listening to these stories on along car journey.Such a shame that new cars generally do not have CD players.

Bought it for my 7yrs old and probably a bit too soon, as the story was quite long and for more mature mind. The story teller was good though, I do prefer to read with the books if possible. If there is book + cd combination will be great.Overall., nice buy good price.

Martin Jarvis could read the telephone directory and make it entertaining, interesting and funny. With Dickens to narrate, this is a joy to listen to in the car. Educate your young on journeys by playing it.

excellent "lazy" way to enjoy Dickens. I listened in the car each day on the way to work. His range of voices is amazing, and his intonation really brings the stories alive.

ordered this item for a friend who had lost interest in reading . Charles Dickens is one of her favourite writers so she can now listen to his novels on a cd player .She loved it.

Very valuable and interesting.It seems that all the voices are made by the same actor, that obliges him to take sometimes ridiculous intonations.Nethertheless it is a very good product. The simplification of the original text are adequately choosen, without eliminating anything from the DIckens world. Very good work.
