This item saved me a bunch. Without it VW wanted to charge me 1200 for a whole new shifter from Germany. This installed in less than 10 minutes and seems like it could be an issue after so many miles. It's plastic but does the job intended, the original just cracked from being brittle. Florida heat beats everything up.
