A: No it doesn't require a desperate power supply. Power is drawn through the USB connection cable when connected to your computer or if connecting to your TV (if your TV supports USB connection for recording or playing out of photos or video files as does my Samsung TV). **Q: 'my device' isnt shown on transcend elite when i have the hard drive plugged in. how do i upload files onto the drive due to this?**

Method #2: Initialize the Drive.
Method #3: Run a Troubleshooter.
Method #4: Update or Reinstall Your Drivers.
Method #5: Disable USB Selective Suspend.
Method #6: Add or Change the Drive Letter.
Make sure your are not putting the usb3 into a usb2 port

A: No, it only needs to be connected to the computer USB port 2.0.or 3.0 (blue) and it will be found as another drive in Windows 7 or 10.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Transcend - as always - very good product

I always have preference for Transcend, when I look for any digital storage products, external / internal harddisk or sd card. Transcend harddisk is Made in Taiwan. It took me a while to find out how to backup files from my macbook. As this harddisk is formatted in NTFS, good for Windows users but not for mac users who do not want the default backup option but backup selecting certain files instead. I erased the harddisk with EXFAT to ensure this can be accessed via mac or windows in the future. Copying files from mac to it is very fast and easy. I will recommend this external SSD harddisk to everyone.
