Great value, great machine, great option for fighting the "COVID-15"
I've used the "name brand celebrity endorsed" version of this machine at a health club (albeit a commercial model) and knew it would actually be something I would use at home (you can probably figure out which brand and which model by comparing pictures online and looking for the martial arts guy endorsing it). I cancelled my gym membership back in July and haven't considered joining again because COVID is still raging in our area. It's been months since I was able to work out and I noticed my clothes were starting to feel tighter. I decided that I would just get us something for our house. I had initially intended to spend the money on that more well-known brand (you can probably figure out which brand and which model by comparing pictures online and looking for the martial arts guy endorsing it) – my budget was more than 3 times what I spent on the GR8FLEX! Here are the pros & cons I've seen: PROS: GR8FLEX is about 1/3 the cost of the "name-brand-celebrity-endorsed" option. For this price, the GR8FLEX comes with more attachments standard, as well as additional weight in the form of 4 resistance bands attached under the slide which give you anywhere from 10 to 50 lbs to add. The competitor's option does not even offer additional weight bands. The machine itself seems well made. It's sturdy (doesn't wobble when used) and is heavy enough to keep it from jumping around (a problem with cheaper/lighter home gyms). The slide rolls smoothly and is not as noisy as I was expecting it to be. GR8FLEX has 15 resistance levels, where the name brand option topped out at 12. This was super easy to set up initially - have a helper - it's mostly pre-assembled but is a bit large for one person to remove from the packaging etc. After setup, and once you figure out how to do it, you can raise the incline and do everything else without any help. Super easy to transition between exercises. The added bands mean that I can get a workout for upper and lower body without changing the incline for many of the exercises. The machine was well-packaged and only slight flattening of the box corners was apparent upon arrival - no obvious transport-related damage to the machine. This comes with a full lifetime warranty, and registration was easy and straightforward on their website - I registered a couple of days after making my purchase. CONS: While it was obvious due to all the plastic wrapping that what I received was new, there were several spots of surface rust, a scratch/scrape, and a noticeable ding in the white paint. I’ve included 4 pictures of some of the rust/damage. However, as these issues are purely cosmetic and point to quality control measures during assembly and packaging which the company could (I would think) easily rectify for future customers. I have only found one thing that I think could be improved upon - the area where the weight bands connect under the slide are C shaped catches - this means the end that you connect/disconnect can drop out of its holder easily. While this is not a deal breaker it would be nice if these were more secure (this is the last image in my review). The unit does take up a lot of real estate in the room - but if you're looking for a home gym, my guess is you already have room for it. My son's phone dropped out of the cellphone holder - so I'm not sure how well designed that part is, but this is yet another con which really doesn't play into the quality of the machine overall. Some of the photo illustrations in the booklet were difficult to see to know we were doing the exercises properly - however, GR8FLEX also has a video channel dedicated to showing the exercises for the machine as well, which is super helpful. I reached out to the company regarding the surface rust and damage to the paint. They replied within about 20 mins with an offer for touch up paint to be sent to me. Nice gesture! I was able to remove nearly all the surface rust with a liquid rust stain remover product (that's made in the USA no less!). The 5th picture included shows how it looks after using that product to remove the most obvious rust spot. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, and so is my 16 yr old son. We set it up and had familiarized ourselves with all but a handful of the exercises in the book within less than a 2-hour period. The other exercises require a curl bar which was the only attachment not included. We give this a 5-star rating because the cons are not significant enough to warrant anything less. If you are looking for a home gym and are worried about paying this much (yes, there are cheaper options out there), I would say this one is a good, solid middle of the road option - it's nowhere near as pricey as the name brand celebrity endorsed product, comes with more standard attachments (including the weight bands!), seems sturdy and well built, has a smooth slide mechanism and is easy to use. I'm really glad we spent $600 (vs less). We could have purchased the competitor; it was in our budget. I'm really glad we didn't.

Exceeded my expectations!
I have been looking at these types of home gyms for many years. One thing that kept me from purchasing any that I looked at what the flimsy feel of the frame. I’m 6’ 3” and weigh about 240 lbs. I didn’t felt that the gyms I tried in the past wouldn’t work well for me or last very long. The GR8FLEX gym however not only met but exceeded my expectations. It is a solid and robust piece of equipment. There is no flexing of the rails or supports when I use it. I was an amateur power lifter for many years and one concern that I previously had was not being sure if there was enough resistance on these types of gyms to give me a decent workout. Well I’m now 57 years old with a lot of joint injuries. Heavy weights and the old programs are out of the question for me. I was looking for a home gym that would provide me with a great workout without beating up my body further. Since the pandemic took the option of going to the local gym where I primarily used machines to weight lift on, this gym very nicely replaces multiple stations at the gym. The workout I designed for my home gym is awesome and there is plenty of resistance for me. I get a great workout that keeps me moving and in shape right in my home. I honestly don’t see myself ever returning to the local gym again. Would I use this home gym to get ready for a powerlifting meet when I was younger? No. But can one build and maintain muscle while also getting a cardio benefit? Absolutely. PROS: the gym comes ready to use. It was packed extremely well. When the box arrived, there were holes in the sides from handling during shipping. NOTHING inside the box was scratched or missing. Hats off to the manufacturers for that. The box weighs over 100 pounds so be prepared for that and have a plan to get it to where you will be using it. The gym itself is a solid piece of equipment. I have it set up in a space where I don’t have to move it. You will not need any tools to get the gym setup and ready to use. There are plenty of exercises to do on it. One huge bonus for me was the squat stand. It is high enough for me to use comfortably. Other gyms of this type have much shorter stands that would have caused knee issues for me. Another huge bonus is the extras you receive that would cost much more with other gyms of this type. Everything is included with the GR8FLEX gym. There is more than enough resistance to build muscle and strength. Being tall, I have no issues getting a full range of motion while performing all exercises. CONS: while the glide board moves smoothly, there is a thunk, thunk, thunk, feeling from the rollers of the glide board. It almost feels like the rollers have little flat spots on them. This doesn’t affect my workouts at all but a better roller could be had. Aside from that, the only other thing I would change would be to make the glide board another 3” or 4” longer on the bottom. I’m tall and have limited range in one knee due to a few surgeries so this issue is not a knock on the design. I get around this small issue by supporting the foot on my bad leg by stacking it on top of my right. A few more inches on the bottom of the board would help me. Others with normal knee ranges will have no issues. I have seen others comment on cables getting stuck in the pulleys. This isn’t a problem for me. Take your time when getting set up and just lightly pull the handles to get some tension on the cables before putting your full weight on the glide board. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. The gym will replace a gym membership for me and allow me to continue to workout at home.

A Total Gym "killer"?
I will start by saying that I am very happy with my Gr8flex gym. I got mine before the price hike, so for me, it was a great choice. I replaced a 10-year-old base model Total Gym that I had received as a gift and had grown out of. I had looked at the TG Fit and just couldn't justify the cost. So, the Pros: This thing is built very well. The pulleys are very smooth and the rollers are the same. I thought the resistance bands would be a gimmick, but they are a great idea and work very well to give you that extra work out. The additional attachments are great. Dip bars, ab attachment, squat deck, and wing bars take this to the next level, fit great, and are sturdy. For me at least, another big pro is the customer service I received. I'll touch on that in a minute. The cons: I don't have many. The packing could be a little better as my unit has a few scratches from the pulleys. Some bubble wrap around them would be a big plus. The name labels were bowed and loose, so I pulled them off. Problem solved. I was missing the D-ring to attach the leg pulley. 3 of the plastic caps were broken on arrival. And last, the wheels had a flat spot. So the customer service. I had emailed a couple of times before my purchase to ask a few questions. I received a reply in an hour, and usually not more than a few hours. When I received my unit, I immediately emailed with photos of what was damaged and missing and included my shipping address. I had shipping confirmation the same day and received the plastic caps, D-ring, and 4 new rollers within a few days. I haven't received service like this in quite some time and was very happy. So, if you go into this purchase with the realization that you may have some hiccups initially, you won't be disappointed. Is this a TG killer? At the $1600 price point, I'd call it very strong competition, given all of the attachments that are included, as well as the resistance bands. At the $600 price point that I purchased mine at? Absolutely. I've used mine quite a bit since I got it, and this thing is great. I don't regret the purchase at all. If they could work out the kinks with the packing to prevent damage and better quality control on the wheels, this over a TG would be a no brainer. Also, if you're reading this Gr8flex...how about including an assembly/user's manual and a beginners workout book like TG has with theirs? To wrap up...a great machine, with great customer service (in my case at least) and, at the lower price, a great value for the price.

Completely honest review here.
If you’re considering a total gym, if you want a unaffiliated brutally honest review, if you’re like me and research a product and read every review possible, this is for you. I am in no way affiliated with this company. I research something I’m interested in until there is literally nothing more to know. I’m just a person who was dying for a solid workout again. I, like many others haven’t been able to go to the gym for the past 2 and half months due to the lock down. We have a good home gym to start ( treadmill, Olympic bar, weight plates, kettle bells, dumbbells, etc.) but I needed something to really help with a total body workout to complete our gym. So I started looking for that final piece. I’m not a fan of bow flex so I didnt even go there. I had my eyes set on a total gym fit, but the $1600 price tag at this time was just not logical for me. My search continued. I did see the Gr8flex on amazon a few times but didnt even give it a chance and immediately scrolled past it because I am probably one of the few people who HATE the color gold. It just looked tacky to me. However, I came back, took a look at it and read every single review for every model, researched it on the net and YouTube, and compared the gr8flex to the fit. They are almost identical but with gr8flex being superior. It has more resistance levels, which is huge for me because if I’m going to spend the money on something like this, I dont want to outgrow it and have to replace it in a year or two. I want the best. It also comes with almost every attachment I wanted....(gr8flex, please make a Pilates toe bar!!!) it comes with a lifetime warranty on every part, and it cost $1,000 less than the fit. I decided to go for it and order the Pearl and gold model and anxiously waited for it to be delivered. My husband was at work when it was delivered. I was too excited to try it out and have a good workout again, so I set it up myself. It doesn’t come with instructions, but like many other reviews stated, the instructions are on their website as well as a video on YouTube. It was really easy to set up alone. This thing is SOLID. Its heavy, but thats a good thing, for me as it can hold more weight and I have a higher level of security on it. It is a lot bigger when folded out than I thought, but another plus because I dont feel constricted and have a huge range of motion (I’m 5’8”). It folds up easily as well. We have a decent sized condo with a huge balcony and use this gym outside, fold it up, and bring it inside to store in a corner so it doesn’t rust in the Florida weather. Its really easy to move around even with how heavy it is. Ive had only 4 days now and I’m in love. The options of moves and workouts are almost unlimited. I wish this had a weight bar like the total gym, BUT, it does have 50 pounds of resistance bands and if you get creative you can add even more weight. I use my pull up bands, leg bands, kettle bells, weight plates, and dumbbells for added weight and resistance for my leg workouts. Ive been an avid gym goer for the past 7 years and this gym is shockingly amazing. I honestly didnt think I would get a GREAT workout with it like I do at the gym, but I was completely wrong. Ive worked muscles that I haven’t worked in a long time, and muscles that ive somehow never worked before. I love the fact you use your core in almost every move. I thought I’d have to start at a high level with my experience, but nope, I was put into my place quickly with this machine and had to start on lower to mid levels for upper body! I can go to 15 with legs but that’s my strong point and I want to focus on upper body. This delivers. I absolutely love it! Back to the color....if you happen to be like me and DESPISE the color gold, dont let this factor into your decision because its actually really beautiful in person. I LOVE white, I wish they would make an all white color one day, a more neutral color, or even give an option on selecting a frame and board color. However, it looks amazing and even with my hatred of gold, I love it! The attachments are great and are super easy to install and take off. The ez curl bar, and pull up attachments are my absolute favorite. I’m still trying to learn and research moves for the leg attachment, but I am able to do a few Pilates moves that really work the core. The ab attachment is awesome as well. My abs haven’t been this sore in years after using it once. To sum it up, all of the attachments are solid, and will provide countless moves if you get creative enough. My husband was skeptical when I told him I ordered this, but after working out on it himself, he changed his mind and is really blown away on the quality of it, and the workout you are able to get from it. He is 6’2” and 225 and has no issue whatsoever with this machine. He has plenty of room working out on it. I read reviews with people having problems and reaching out to customer service with no response or resolution, I just dont believe those reviews. I did have a few issues with it (manufacturing problems) but an email to the seller was quickly answered and resolved all my problems. Customer service is huge for me, so they got major bonus points as a whole on how well and fast my problems were resolved. I immediately started sending pictures of the gym to friends and family recommending it if they are looking for a home gym. This is it. I personally, would much rather support a small business and help them grow, rather than to fill the pockets of a huge company who doesn’t really care about customer service ( a quick chat session with TG told me everything I need to know about them). I have a little background in manufacturing so I do understand that MOST products everyone purchases on a daily basis all come from the same manufacturer's in China (I have no idea if this gym does and am not implying that), but you pay different amounts, for a name and label. TG charges $1,000 more for a machine that is similar but less than the gr8flex, all for a name and celebrity endorsement. Like I said, when you compare this gr8flex gym to the fit, the gr8flex is superior in every way. This piece of equipment is SOLID and well built. Its not cheap in build or aesthetics. I already have recommended this to people, and will continue to do so. I dont see the need of having to replace it anytime soon, but if I had to purchase a new one, I definitely would. My husband and I love it so much, we just canceled our gym membership. I do love the actual gym, but we now have everything we need for a complete and solid workout at home. What’s better than having a gym quality workout inside/outside your home, not having to drive or worry about what to wear? Getting fresh air and hearing the ocean doesn’t hurt either. So, if you’re considering this machine, the TG, or something similar, dont even think about it, buy this!! I promise you will not regret it!

Nice machine came with a big chip though
Purchased this because we liked the reviews and the YouTube videos we found with both work outs and reviews. We also wanted to buy the accessories, but Amazon didn't carry those. We decided to buy the work out machine at Amazon because we have prime and there was free shipping. We purchased the accessories from the manufacturer. My only small complaint was there was a big chip even when it was packages well. My husband said, 'it's exercise equipment, it will eventually get chipped'. But I still thought when you pay that much you want things out of the box to look new. But what are you to do, repack and send back and hope the next won't have one? So I'll deal with the chip. My husband has been using the machine daily. I haven't used it yet, but it seems to be sturdy. It glides easily and there are so many exercise you can do with it. It's functional and easy to assemble. I think it was a great investment.

Very satisfied customer!
The GR8FLEX Performance Gym is a very worthwhile piece of exercise equipment. Having a fair amount of experience on these types of 'sliding bench' apparatuses, I have very positive opinions about this one. Nothing wrong with the main competitor (Total Gym), but a lot of what you're paying for is their never-ending advertising campaign, whether it’s those 30-minute infomercials or basic 30-second TV ads. The Gr8flex delivers a superb machine along with a bunch of accessories, for a lot less money. I'd read the reviews here on Amazon and saw only a handful were negative, mostly regarding scratches and dents and some even having mold. Thankfully, mine arrived in perfect condition, save for a wee bit of oxidation on the ends of the glide rails. (A quick wipe with a wet towel took care of that.) Everything else was pristine and packed securely. One thing to note with mine is that the bench pad itself was NOT encased in plastic like so many other reviewers have complained about in the past, so maybe they've re-thought their approach. Opened it up and extended the machine for use, and set it up, all without the instruction manual. (I couldn't find it at first, only later did I notice it in the package with the floor mats.) Easy enough with my previous experience with these machines, though. The machine itself is fully assembled, but you do have to clip on the pulleys & cable, then the handles. And of course any attachments you may want to use for certain exercises. The motions are smooth and slick, no roughness. It is not silent, but neither is it noisy. The bench has a decent amount of padding, not too firm nor too soft. The handles have a softer grip compared to other brands I've used, but that's just an observation, not a complaint. As far as adjusting the tower height to change resistance, it is relatively easy and smooth, but does take a little effort. Others have complained that it is very hard to move up or down, but I did not experience that issue. Make sure you have pulled the yellow knob all the way out and it should move just fine. Spent the first 25 minutes or so just running through a bunch of different exercises, getting a feel for each and mentally noting how the resistance/motion felt in comparison to my Total Gym and Weider Ultimate Body Works. The Gr8flex is as smooth or smoother than the TG, and just as stable. (The Weider is a more budget-friendly knockoff, so as expected, it is a notch below in both categories. Still delivers a good workout, though.) The biggest bonus the GR8FLEX offers is the inclusion of the resistance cords. Without having to raise the angle of the platform, you can still increase the resistance simply by adding one or more of the (2)10-lb or (2)15-lb cords mounted underneath the bench. I will admit these can be a little difficult to place them back in their respective slots when detaching them. (Otherwise, they will drag along the ground when not connected). That is one area for improvement, IMO. But the fact that they're there adds another dynamic to the workout, and I'm very pleased to have that option. The included attachments consist of: Wing bars (for pull-ups & push-ups, leg curls), dip bars, ab-crunch bars, leg pulley system, and the EZ-curl bar. The last one is extremely valuable when needing to add some variety to all of the standard exercises normally done with the two handles. Also comes with an oversized squat stand, floor mats, and a cellphone holder. (Note: the cellphone holder would not screw into the designated hole…it wasn’t machined properly.) All in all, the GR8FLEX is a remarkable machine. No, it's not inexpensive, but in all honesty it's priced accordingly here on Amazon. In my opinion, all of these sliding bench machines are somewhat overpriced (some a lot more than others), but that's the market and I don't mind paying for quality. This top GF model is less than half of the price of the top TG model. I've always worked out 6-7 days a week, so we'll see if it's up to the rigors I'll put it through over time. As I’d mentioned earlier, there's nothing wrong with the main competition, but for a lot less money and with a lot more accessories, the GR8FLEX wins out. (I've since sold off my Total Gym and gave the Body Works to my daughter.)

Good Product Poor Assembly and Delivery
Sorry for a long review, but is worth the read. I hope it helps some of you. Compared to the competition this is a good product for about half or little more than half the price. I am disappointed in a few things but the first was the delivery, this is in regards to assembly and how it was packaged. In some of the pics you will see what appears to be brown or rusting portions, this was on the main post near the numbers, as well as seen on the back side of the seat. This was apparent after I had to disassemble the seat from the frame. It appears to be rust or dirt, I can't really tell. However, in any case it made me think this was stored in a warehouse somewhere and is possibly old. So, why did I need to take it apart? It appears that they wrap or package the seat prior to assembly. This requires the purchaser to have to unscrew or disassemble the entire seat from the frame in order to unwrap the plastic off the seat. Some might say this is great that they were thoughtful enough to cover the seat and protect it. Well, if that were the purpose, then send it already disassembled and let the purchaser unwrap the seat first instead of having to take it apart to remove the wrap. Wasted time. It was a good thing I did have to take it apart, however, as I then was able to find out that one of the larger hex head screws was stripped and doesn't do anything to hold the seat to the frame. See the pic of the screw that was stripped as well as the related video. Do they not have a QA team to look at these things before shipping? Finally, while needing to separate the seat from the frame I had to remove all smaller phillips screws along with the larger hex head screws. Everyone one of the hex screws should have been able to be removed by using an allen wrench. That would have been easy to do if each of the inside of the hex head was not stripped. There was not one that could be removed with an allen wrench. I had to use a Torx type head that would grip where the allen wrench would no longer work. Finally, the instructions are ok as you can somewhat figure things out by the pics, but not 100%. And the details in word were not enough. Also, there is nothing in the manual to tell you how to assemble the leg workout attachments. I guess it is just to be guessed by the new owner, maybe by video I can figure out how to assemble it by watching how it is used. One final complaint and then some good news. The side "silver", what appears to be a heavy plastic (maybe metal, but not quite sure), anyway the silver side strips are covered with a teflon type plastic to protect them from being scratched during shipping and set up, is my guess. Well, they are not the easiest teflon type strips to remove. Actually parts of them are still stuck on in small pieces but I am not going to worry about them. I would rather leave the little pieces on than to scratch the silver while attempting to remove it. Finally some good words, It does appear to be made of quality material, just a few things as mentioned above that needs to be improved upon. When you pay any amount for this type of product you would expect that all of these little flaws would not be present, and could definitely be addressed with just a few quality checks or changes in the processes pre packaging. I set it up last night in about an hour, assembly and moving to my room where it will be located. Sorry, one last thing, the floor pads they provide seem to be rather thin. I have some square pads that I paid about $15 for, for 6 and they will work much better than those provided. The company could thicken those up for such a product with this kind of weight in it and knowing additional weight will be on the equipment while in use. One thing I really look forward to is the overall number of exercises that can be completed on one piece of equipment. I hope this is helpful with both some good and constructive feedback. Goodluck on your purchase and enjoy. I gave the 3 rating because of all those things listed above. If those could be corrected I probably would have given it a 4 or 5 rating. Ok, one last thing I thought of, regarding shipping. I placed the order about a week ago, 7-8 days. I was initially told it would be delivered by tomorrow, or Wed of this week, which would have been about 8 or 9 days total. A day or two later, last Wed, I received an update that it would be delivered on Friday, so within the same week. It would have been only 4-5 days for delivery from the time it was ordered. Then on Thurs, a day before delivery, I received an update that it was going to be delayed until Monday. Monday comes and it was to delayed until Tuesday, or yesterday. Long story short, don't keep making changes to delivery time. Just stick to the original until you know for sure when delivery will happen. Again, good luck with your purchase and enjoy. Update, added one last pic showing the rust on the main post. Not sure what it was from but it came that way.

Overall, I don't think you can beat this machine for the price.
I've only had this a week or so so I will update if anything changes. When I got it, it had a few scratches but nothing major and not enough to send it back. The paint does scratch fairly easily though, but I had a feeling that would happen when I ordered it. It wasn't a deal breaker for me, given all the other pluses. Pros: This thing is VERY sturdy and the tower is the largest and tallest one I've seen other than the very top of the line Total Gym model, which is well over $3000. The glideboard is also a little wider and longer, which is nice because I'm always worried about my hair getting caught when lying down. The number and variety of attachments are great, and I love that they come with the pins connected to them so I don't have to worry about losing them. The best thing about it though, imho, is the squat stand. I almost bought that alone for my Total Gym Supra but by the time I bought all the other things I wanted it made more sense just to get the new machine. I can now do squats without my knees going past my toes and it's just much more comfortable. Cons: Doesn't come with instructions, but my questions were answered via email by the next day. The website is also very bare bones, which kind of concerned me, but I assume it's because this is a new product and they are getting it up and running. Gliding also feels "wavy" toward the bottom but it's not bad. I wonder if replacing the wheels might fix it but for now I'm not really worried about it. So far, the only other real con is that I had a very hard time getting the pins in when using the wing attachment at the bottom of the gym because the metal pieces that the resistance bands hook onto were in the way. Overall, I don't think you can beat this machine for the price. The attachments alone make it a great deal, and the machine itself seems to be well made.
