Is there a proper way/proper time to insert this? Do I leave lightswitch on?** A: I just put it in when I got it (mid-day) and then turned on the switch inside. I just leave the switch on all the time. The light only goes on when it's dark outside and detects motion. **Q: Will it work in a socket that faces up?** A: Yes, I actually have one in a socket facing up and down. **Q: just purchased this light for my porch; it's not shutting off at night; I just want it on during motion. What am I doing wrong. Indoor switch is on.** A: I have 3 of these on the exterior of my home. All of which shut off after 30 seconds when no movement is detected. Goes off every time after 30 seconds. So much light I had to reverse the fixture and even with just a small section of the back part of the bulb showing......it still sees me!Coming down stairs, it activates when my feet protrude slightly below the ceiling level. Very good product with lots of light and reliably sensitive to entry nearby. No more reaching to turn a light on! Funktioniert wirklich gut und registriert Bewegungen erstaunlich schnell. Die Leuchtkraft ist ausreichend und die abgegebene Wärme ist gering.Wer mal fix ne Lampe mit Bewegungsmelder benötigt ohne größere Installationen vornehmen zu wollen, ist hier gut beraten.
