Worth the purchase!
Great story, especially loved Penelope's transformation into a confident lady after Lady D's encouragement… Colin was a delight, and his declarations of love had me all weepy and happy at the same time.

Journey of Colin to find himself and discovers something undiscoverable!!
What a book it is!! Colin who is always being perceived as an immature and not so serious guy in society decides to rediscover himself in turn discovers the true identity of Lady Whistledown!! One of the epic plot twists and the scene where Lady Whistledown is revealed in front of entire Ton! Must read book for the romance, love, comedy, and for the love of Regency Era!!

So good!!
I highly recommend this book, a man written by a woman and a love story is so heart touching and soft.

Nice story
Great chemistry between Colin and Penelope. It kept me glued to the end. I'm really excited to read the rest of the series.

MARAVILHOSO!
História envolvente daquelas que a gente não quer parar de ler até chegar no final! Comecei a ler porque fiquei curiosa com o final da temporada da série mas o livro é bem melhor. Já vou ler os outros

Lovely book - spoilers so read the book first!
This is the first of the 'Bridgerton' series that I've read, although I did really enjoy the prequels. I was intrigued to read it after watching the series and I'm so glad that I did. There were so many things that I preferred:1. Lady Whistledown is yet to be discovered at the start of this, meaning that Penelope and Elouise are still best friends - I didn't enjoy their separation in the series and thought Elouise seemed mean and unreasonable. She's also nothing but happy for Penelope and Colin when they get engaged.2. Penelope's friendship with Lady Danbury, who also sees Penelope's true self and offers support and guidance.3. Colin discovers that Penelope is Lady Whistledown before he proposes/falls in love and doesn't sulk about it and ignore her before/during/after their wedding (I hated this in the series and made me massively dislike Colin's character. He never redeemed himself in my eyes.)4. There was no 'teaching' Penelope to flirt etc - I didn't like this in the series and it seemed as though Colin only wanted her because someone else had taken interest. There were a few things that could have been better in the book - the development of Colin's feelings being one. He quickly went from questioning his love to being fully committed- it would've been nice to see this develop naturally. Plus, the way he speaks to Penelope at times is hurtful and unnecessary. Despite this, I still much prefer book Colin. His speech at the end is beautiful. I understand why this was changed in the series though - it was Penelope's moment and I think that's the only bit of the series that I preferred. Along with the way her relationship with her own family developed - that didn't come from the book but I think was a great addition.
