My picky horse loves the taste of this. And he looks the best he has in a long time. Currently on my 2nd bag.

I gave this to my neighbor when she moved in because her horses struggled to regain weight after a cross country move. This has helped substantially in rebuilding body condition.

I have used this on my OTTB. He has been gaining weight. I have added this to his feed and increased his exercise. I think this is a good addition to an already laid out plan. Overall it has helped.

Have a horse that has trouble at times keeping wight on. Tried this supplement and it seems to work. Less issues with horse's diet and she's in better health.

This supplement is palatable and the horses eat it well. To me it has a licorice scent that they don't seem to mind. The texture is nice and it sticks to pelletized feed well so they don't waste it. I am feeding it to young horses to prepare for a show and they are both eating it well. The ingredients are just what I was looking for to support them in their increased work load.

I have a horse with a multitude of health problems that I struggle to keep weight on. He also has very little muscle as he has never fully recovered from a major surgery 2 years ago and he is about 30 years old. I have added quality oils to his feed to add more fat to his diet plus I feed a very dense nutritional senior feed and a large amount of mash as he doesn't have much for teeth either! I always thought this type of weight gain supplement was expensive but a 11 lb bag lasts 2 months. He has been eating it for 2 weeks and I think I'm seeing results already. I might only need to feed this for 2 months each spring or maybe an additional 2 months in the winter so he doesn't lose weight.Short story - I think I'm seeing some weight gain in 2 weeks. In my opinion, this is a good addition to a nutritionally dense diet for a struggling horse. I am normally quite pessimistic about supplements as have spent a ton of money on them and most don't help. I'm optimistic this will help!

After decades of struggling to manage overweight horses, I'm now faced with the opposite problem. An oldster who is too thin. All the usual suspects have been eliminated (teeth, parasites, etc) and it seems he's just not getting the calories he needs from what he's eating. I'm not having success with pelleted senior feed, so am grateful for the opportunity to try Pennwoods' Body Builder Complete.The 11 lb option came in a big (resealable) foil pouch. A 2 oz scoop is included. It's a meal, not powder, so mixes will with the rest of his ration. It smelled fresh, though I was disappointed that there wasn't an expiration date on the bag anywhere.With the protein and fat content (each 34%) as well as Choline, Lysine and Methionine (among other things) I have no doubt that I'll see an improvement in hair and hoof quality. I took a star off because I don't know (yet) how well it will work; will update my review after enough time has passed that I can see if it's helping in the weight department.
