Never worry about plastic tabs breaking.
I had won 2 Milwaukee Brewers tumblers & their covers had plastic tabs holding the plastic slider on. They broke almost immediately. I ordered these covers & they are magnetic. They work AWESOME!!!!

Reduced spillage
The magnetic closure on the lid reduces spillage, it does not eliminate it. It is a better lid than the the original Yeti 20 oz cup lid.
