MY FIRST CARVING KNIFE
EXCELLENT CARVING KNIFE. I AM WELL PLEASED WITH THIS ITEM. IT IS EASY TO HOLD AND ARRIVED INTENSELY SHARP. I AM A NOVICE CARVER AND STILL, THE KNIFE WAS PERFECT FOR MY LACK OF SKILL. I USED THE KNIFE TO STRIP THE BARK OFF OF MESQUITE BRANCHES WHICH I THEN USED FOR MAKING SUNCATCHERS, WINDCHIMES, HOLIDAY MOBILES AND THE LIKE. THIS IS A VERY GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY. I WILL BE PURCHASING FROM THIS MANUFACTURER AGAIN. THE KNIFE FIT MY HAND PERFECTLY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

absolutely excellent knife for the money!
im quite pleased with this purchase. i'm an absolute beginner at whittling, and i was willing to settle for a lower quality knife to save money in a hobby i didn't even know if i'd like, but this is a really nice knife. of course, as a beginner, i can't compare it to the nicer knives available, but im happy with it. it's quite sharp right out of the box, and i've been stropping it maybe every 15-40 minutes of use or so and it's kept a great edge. fits quite comfortable in the hand, and easy to use. i like the shape of the handle and the blade is pretty versatile, which is good for a beginner on a budget. ive managed to easily strip bark, make big cuts, and do tiny detail work with it. ive also managed to slip and cut myself, but that's just a bit of user error. maybe add a pair of cut proof gloves to your cart before you check out on this one 👌🏼in the images with this review you can see the small details i've managed with this knife, including managing to carve out the eye of some yarn needles with the point of it!

Super sharp!
People such as myself should not play with knives & wood. But, alas, I lack common sense.I have dabbled in the art of whittling off & on all my life. I have the scars to prove it. So, one day, I woke up & decided to get at it again. I ordered some little wooden squares, & this knife, with the intention of making rings for my husband & I. I’ve been quite happy with the work this knife can perform. It knicked off the edges of the squares & shaped them very quickly, & nicely! So far, Im very impressed with the sharpness & durability. I’m not even mad it tried to take the skin off my pinky. I’m kind of impressed with how easily & painlessly it happened (the pain came later…) This bad boy made me realize my family was correct in their naggings at me to buy cut proof gloves specifically for my freakishly small hands. This was just a knife to get me started again, & to see if I like it. I’ll be buying the others soon.

Good value for $10
Pretty good overall product, especially for the price. Knife is super sharp and didn’t come with any sort of sheath besides the one for shipping. I cut part of the provided leather into a small blade cover and still have plenty of material to strop :)

Great tool for carving spoons
Love it! Exactly what I needed to carve my first spoon. Without it I’d be stuck with a really shallow bowl. This let me carve a nice deep and round shape. Very sharp out of the box and ready to use. I have large hands and found this knife was very comfortable to use.

Beav*r Crap and got nothin on these bad boys!!
Obviously not gonna be the most amazing blade out there but c’mon look at the price!!!! Paid WAAAAAY more for a set of beaver crap brand and one snapped and the edges rolled but these bad boys no way Jose!! Steel is really nice edge holds wonderfully handles are super comfy and they look good too. You’re gonna spend $50 and above for any blade that gonna be just a tiny bit better and why would you even do that unless you’re burning money already. I’m 100% sold these are the blade’s to buy for beginners to actual carvers. They travel easy too!!! Note if I could find a way to be a product tester (wink wink hahahaha) I would be Uber happy but for now I’ll just have to settle for being darn happy with these blades and highly recommend them to anybody. I’ve been using them to carve negative space and high relief into stuff like hickory!! Yeah I said it hickory with no chips edge rolling or deformation off any type past what is to be expected and these still hold up better than I could have guessed or expected. BUY THESE YOU’LL BE HAPPIER THAN 5YEAR OLD WITH A BLANK CHECK AT TOYS-R-US!!!!

Looks good out of the box, needed to be stropped., nice handle
Too soon to tell. Only had it one day. Looks fine , good quality, nice pack, not very sharp. After full day of carving I’ll know better. So far it’s fine! Now after a solid several hours working on a basswood pit bull dog carving, I had the opportunity to use this knife along with my other solid knives. Unfortunately it is my least favorite. Not as good with thin cuts. The hollow grind is shallow and leaves the blade thick in the cutting area. Does not compare to two other similar size and shaped Sloid knives I regularly use, that were same price to buy. Probably ok for a beginner
