I thought this came with an actual base not sand. I could’ve gotten another umbrella with the base separate that is more sturdy. The item should say sand bag weight because it doesn’t and that makes a huge difference. Now have to buy sand and I do not think that’s secure enough so I’ll have to spend money on a separate base, which all adds up to more. I could’ve made a different decision of the description was more clear.

I was surprised how easy this offset umbrella was to put together. The based snapped together easily and the pole connected effortlessly. A couple of things to watch for: when you put together: make sure the little band ring is facing the pole because this is what connects the umbrella to the pole so it does not move around in the breeze. It is not made clear in the instructions about the ring so I learned the hard way. No big problem, just had to repeat procedure. Umbrella goes up smoothly and the tie used to secure entire umbrella to pole is long enough to provide a good fit. One little piece of advice, when you place the sand in the weight bags, make sure the sand is dry. Goes into the bags a lot easier and not as messy. Overall, umbrella provides good shade and seems very sturdy. The umbrella portion is easy to remove if needed, if heavy winds are forecast. Might be a good idea to do that. Very happy with product.

I ordered navy blue but it looks like faded compared to my other umbrella. The canopy is thinner which may not last long enough.
