I had to install safety grab bars for my 94 yo father-in-laws bath and shower. These drill cut very well, without a lot of pressure needed. Be sure to use a hammer drill and water when drilling.

This is a nice collection of drill bits, with the most popular size getting two each. They are very sharp, but I don't know what it is that makes them so heavy. I have never seen or felt a set of drill bits this heavy. It's like they're made out of depleted uranium. I didn't think Cobalt was that heavy a metal, but I'm not a nuclear scientist or a military weapons expert. Who knows? Either way, the exception of the weight, it's a very good product. 4 Stars.

These bits came in a little case, and the bits were snug in there. So snug that they were difficult to replace, but the trick is to insert the base first, the push the tip down. That seemed to work better. When they state it has high cobalt, according to a quick search, that means at least 5%. The upside is they're really tough and can drill through tough material (and these do), but the downside is they can be more brittle and break. I didn't break any, but I like to search claims made for products, especially tools, to get a better understanding of what they're referring to. They have hex shanks which eliminate slippage, and these are better than others I've seen where they attach the bit to a shank, instead of it being one piece like these. Sometimes those break/bend. They're good quality bits in a nice compact case, and I like the color, which means nothing in the scheme of things, but thought I'd throw that in. The price is reasonable as well.

These bits are advertised as masonry bits, and they do work, but they have features that make them much better for drilling ceramic tile, soft stone, or even glass. They actually drilled through glass better than some glass-specific bits I've used in the past.They include very sharp cross profile cutters (4 cutting edges) that penetrate finer material well. I wouldn't expect them to hold up as well with heavy aggregate concrete as more traditional bits with chunky carbide cutters. When drilling brick they shed the dust well. I would also expect the tips to shatter if used with an impact drill. (I'm not going to try).They can be used dry, or with water at higher speeds.They include hex shanks that don't slip in a standard chuck and snap right in to snap-style chucks, which makes switching bits easy.The kit comes with 2 each of the most popular sizes (5/16, 1/4, & 3/16 inch) and one each of the remaining sizes.

I need to hang something on my plaster wall and these bits made the job easier. There are 10 bits in the hard plastic box with clear cover. Different sizes and different length. They're strong and the other end has the shape of the insert bits so it's much easier to use. The plastic box is super useful to keep all bits in place in my tool box. Glad that i got this set.
