Had Blink cameras for a while and became increasingly frustrated with the constant loss of connection, the need to buy overpriced specialist batteries, and motion detection that often failed to pick up someone standing right in front of the camera. This camera has been outstanding and is replacing both a Blink static camera and doorbell that were, frankly, useless. The motion detection is incredibly sensitive if you want it to be, but you can also adjust exactly how much activity you want it to pick up. Even in winter, the solar panel has kept the camera fully charged while running on the highest settings for everything. Installation was also very straightforward and it comes with everything you need. You can either use an SD card for storage or pay a very reasonable subscription of around £29 per year. If you’re just starting to look into CCTV for your home, this is a great option. There are no wires to run, and it’s far cheaper than installing a traditional DVR system or sticking with the Blink alternative. The night vision is also excellent. It provides full-colour footage and works extremely well — you can clearly make out facial features both day and night. Overall, this has been a massive upgrade from Blink. It’s reliable, easy to install, flexible to set up exactly how you want it, and offers excellent image quality day and night. For the price, it’s genuinely hard to fault and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple but effective home security camera.

It's exactly what i need it. Clear image, even during the night. A wide visual angle, all you need. I have mounted on the corner of the house, can see back garden and driveway, its brilliant. With the solar panels always 100% charged, you don't need to charge it or run cables through the roof. I have the 4k door bell as well, they work perfectly, the only thing is to have a good Internet collection to cover also outside of the property.

Lovely clear picture with this 3K 5MP camera. Really easy to set up and connect with my wifi network. The motion detection works a treat, especially with larger objects such as humans and traffic etc. Really well made item to, feels expensive but was quite a decent price for such a quality item. It would be good if Tapo starting making some of their quality cameras POE. That would be the only thing that could make this better.

I read the reviews before buying my x2 C630 solar cameras. Well I've had them approximately for two months and I'm delighted with them. -The solar panel have kept the battery fully powered with no problem. Aside from the camera at by back door not charging the battery intermittently, I realised the solar panel was in the wrong position so I separated the camera and panel putting the panel where it gets all the light rays it needs and et voilà my back door camera is 99% charged all day so far every day. -Notifications ✌🏽 -Setting up! Connecting to WiFi was not complicated but locating the SIM card slot, reset and on/off buttons was confusing. I had to turn the camera to expose the rubber seal and there everything was. -Mounting: x2 or for my back door x4 screws👍🏽 -Robust and simply constructed, love it. and it comes with everything you'll need. -Value for money 100% this was a terrific purchase and I pay for the care package though you don't need to. I have other TAPO cameras and I don't mind paying for the extra though be warned you don't get much. Clever little kit👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I bought this to install at the front of my house. I have other Tapo cameras so setup was easy. Just connect to network and the app does the rest. Its good quality and I would say its value for money based on what you get. Yes there are cheaper alternatives but this camera and the app are excellent. Battery life is excellent as the solar panel tops up during the day and even after 2 months of Use in NI weather its still at 100%. Motion detection is good but needs to be setup right. Connectivity is excellent through the app and links to Alexa seamlessly. I have opted for a 128gb micro sd card as opposed to any cloud service but this does not detract from the quality of the camera. Its a good camera.

Great piece of kit for the price. The image is really good and the microphone is exceptional for 2 way communication. The solar panel has been working great with deliberate high load testing to keep the battery at 100% maintenance. Only issue which is the same for all battery operated detection cameras is the slow wake up, detection and movement. but this is a trait of the technology on all cameras. Its the only thing that slightly tarnishes a very good product indeed

I would not recommend this product. I purchased this kit hoping that I would not have to worry about charging a battery or drilling holes for installation. The solar panel has never once charged the camera. I have spent over a month with back and forth emails to the supplier trying to get the issue resolved or the kit replaced to no avail. The service has been shocking. I am now in a position where I can't return the device for a refund from Amazon because it has been too long trying to resolve it with the supplier. While the camera itself is decent quality, I would not recommend buying the kit. I now have an expensive set up that doesn't work, and a subscription to a service that isn't working correctly.

arrived quickly C630 camera looks to be well made and of good quality set up is very easy took less than 1hr, quality of live streaming day and night is very good also recording is great solar keeps battery topped up so no probs very pleased with item

Estou testando ha alguns dias e até agora achei a qualidade da imagem excelente, os triggers de gravação por movimento funcionam bem, os downloads para o celular são muito simples e rápidos. Ainda não estou 100% familiarizado com tudo, mas por enquanto não tenho nada a reclamar.

Dies ist meine 3. und 4. TAPO -Kamera. Diese hier im Außeneinsatz (Garten). Wie immer beim TAPO Smarthome-Sytem: Einfache Installation & gute, übersichtliche App. Funktioniert insgesamt gut & zuverlässig. Insbesondere die KI-Personenerkennung sortiert viel 'sonstige' Bewegung aus und vermeidet damit Fehlalarme. Videochip erscheint mir sehr lichtstark: Erst bei sehr tiefer Dämmerung wird auf IR umgeschaltet. Bei mir reicht sogar noch das Restlicht der Straßenlaterne auf der Straßenseite gegenüber für ein Farbbild. Der Videochip kommt dabei auch gut mit Gegenlicht und punktuellen Leuchtquellen im Bildbereich zurecht. Die Stromversorgung erfolgt mit 10 Watt/Volt. Hierzu finden sich günstige Unterputznetzteile im Elektrozubehör für die Outdoor-Montage. Andere TAPO-Kameras vertragen nur 5 Volt, was als Netzteil deutlich seltener und teurer zu bekommen ist. Speicherung in der kostenpflichtigen Cloud (32 Eur/Jahr) oder lokaler SD-Karte. Letzters dann kostenlos - aber von außen leicht zu sabotieren (Schraubdeckel). Überhaupt bietet die Kamera wenig Widerstand gegen schlagenden Angriff: Ist eben alles Kunststoff. Die Montage ist also außerhalb möglicher Angriffsreichweiten erforderlich. Bildzugriff via App oder ONIV (noch nicht probiert). Endlosstreaming nur, wenn Kamera und Handy im gleichen WLAN sind. Ansonsten wird die Wiedergabe nach ein paar Minuten unterbrochen - kann aber nach Bestätigung fortgesetzt werden. Meine Cons: Der Videochip liefert zwar bis in die sehr dunkle Dämmerung noch ein Farbbild. Bei richtiger Dunkelheit (sternenklar) werden jedoch weiße LEDs als Scheinwerfer für ein Farbbild zugeschaltet und bilden im Gegenzug ein schönes Positionslicht. Ebenso finde ich die IR-Leuchtdioden recht stark sichtbar und diese erfüllen damit ebenso die Funktion einer Positionsmarkierung. Die KI-Personenerkennung reagiert m.E. einfach nur auf vertikale-linienhafte Pixelverschiebungen: Auch ein über das Grundstück fallender Lichtstrahl wird so als Person erkannt. Naja, bleibt aber trotzdem besser, als auf jede Katze zu reagieren. Eine konfigurierbare Bewegungsgrenze für die PAN-Funktion fehlt: So verfolgt die Kamera auch mal eine Bewegung bis in den öffentlichen Raum und bleibt dann an den Bewegungen des Straßenverkehrs 'hängen'. Gerne würde ich daher den maximalen Schwenkbereich festsetzen können und nicht bis ins endlose verfolgen. Insgesamt bin ich zufrieden mit dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und habe das gleiche Modell nochmal nachgekauft. Auch die übrigen TAPO Smarthome-Bauteile erscheinen mir funktional & preiswert: Über die schaltbare Steckdose kann ich so bei Personenerkennung der Kamera, die Gartenbeleuchtung via 'TAPO-Automatisierung' einschalten lassen. Top!

Muy contento con las cámaras Tapo C510W que he comprado para dar seguridad al exterior de mi casa. Requieren conexión constante a la electricidad porque están transmitiendo video 24x7, una funcionalidad que para mi era importante. Esto unido al soporte del protocolo RTSP me permite integrar los streams de videos con un NVR local y no depender de subscripciones para poder almacenar las grabaciones. La instalación y configuración fue muy sencilla. El adaptador de corriente es muy pequeño por lo que he sido capaz de meterlo dentro de una caja de electricidad estanca de 10x10cm. Tuve que adaptar un poco el enchufe pero quedó bien seguro y estanco. El uso de la cámara es muy simple y con la propia aplicación de Tapo se puede gestionar a la perfección. Leí críticas sobre la cobertura wifi que el video se cortaba y demás. En mi caso la cámara tiene el punto de acceso a unos 5 metros, detrás de unos muros bien gruesos, y no he tenido nada de problemas de cobertura. El video, incluso transmitiendo a 2K, va fluido. Muchas opciones como seguimiento, detección de personas, capturas, notificaciones, mod patrulla.... Genial, no te faltarán modos. La cámara se ve estupenda, tanto de dia como de noche. Y al permitir RTSP se integra super fácil con otros dispositivos locales para grabación. Aquí pongo un ejemplo viendo el stream de video 2K desde mi ordenador en casa usando VLC y como veis una vez activada la cuenta local en el dispositivo funciona a las mil maravillas. Muy satisfecho y recomiendo su compra al 100%.
