Good flavor. They DO benefit from a GOOD long soaking before use, OR cook for a while. I added to doctored up pork and beans with a smoked brisket, and let em simmer for 4 hours. Very good.If I'm doing a big cook the next day, I might put some flakes into a styro bowl and soak in water over night, though that's overkill. But don't use some in a canned bowl of soup, heat 3 minutes and want them nice and tender. They benefit from a little more soak time than that. I generally plan ahead a bit when cooking so this is zero issue for me.Price just went up a lot which is unfortunate. Way outpaced the rising cost of the onions, so maybe they are raising prices for their prepper customer and get a little more $$ out of them.

I've used these in slow-cooked dishes like chili, or in meatloaf/meatballs (where the onions are more of a background flavor). There's no discernible difference. It's a big time saver and probably a money saver as well since this bag must be equivalent to several dozen onions.If you use them in dishes that are quickly cooked, they're OK but give it kind of a "French onion soup from the packet" taste. It's not like it tastes disgusting; it's a different flavor than if you had used freshly diced onions though.It doesn't mean you never have to buy onions again, but it's very useful and efficient to have in the kitchen. I'll be keeping a bag of this stuff around.

Its dried onion...not a lot to say other than it's clean, chopped handy to have around form of onions.Nice airtight plastic packaging received in perfect condition.

These are just wonderful; the right size, delicious flavor, versatile, and this purchase of 2 POUNDS was enough to last me about 6 months. So happy I found these.

Use onion in a lot of cooking projects. So easy to keep dry onion on hand as a substitute for fresh onion. Keeps well for a long time.

I originally bought this to take in the RV so I'd always have onion without having to get to the store, and it's a light package so it would travel well. I opened them at home when I was out of onion and have been using them every since. The flavor is good and I've found that I don't need to use alot of them to get an onion flavor. Quite the opposite, I actually crumble them further with my fingers, as I'm adding to whatever I'm preparing. I get the flavor without overpowering the dish. I still buy fresh, but don't worry about if I run out. These will be a staple in my house & RV from now on...
