About a foot, maybe longer. I used it when I coached a little league baseball team, it was very helpful with the magnetic tabs for the names of players, a great time saver. I thought it was great. What I did was attach it to the fence with clips and then the kids could see where they were going to play. I hope this helps.

Q: Has anyone found replacement magnets that actually work? my first attempt failed. the one's from pro-tuff are way overpriced.

The magnets from Pro-Tuff are made especially for the Pro-Tuff Magnet Board. They are only about $6. Some coaches put a strip of scotch tape over them to make them work better with a dry-erase marker. They are much easier to handle than full magnetic strips that get stuck together.
